Stamp ‘N Hop for a Spring Picnic With You

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop! My name is Maureen but most people, other than my Mother call me Mo and I live just outside Cambridge in the UK.  The theme of this month’s hop is a favourite item from the Occasions catalogue which is available until 31 May 2018. Decisions, decisions what to choose, the new catalogue is packed with fab things……..hmm………in the end I chose the Picnic For You stamp set and co-ordinating Picnic Basket Builder dies. I am ssoooo… ready for Spring and I love a picnic, so a perfect choice.

I started by stamping the basket from the Picnic With You stamp set in Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the loaves in 1st and 2nd generation Soft Suede ink then the outline cupcakes using the same ink. The icing for the cupcakes was added in Berry Burst ink. The cute little bottle was stamped in Night of Navy ink. I stamped the apples in Pear Pizzazz ink and added a touch of Berry Burst ink to one side with a Sponge Dauber. The checked cloth was stamped in Berry Burst ink and everything was then die cut using the Picnic Basket Builder dies and the Big Shot.

Taking a piece of the Color Theory dsp 5¼” by 3½” I added ½ a Delicate Doily towards the bottom and stuck all the die cut elements using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The basket was added on top on Stampin’ Dimensionals and the checked cloth glued on with Tombow. The basket looked lovely and full.

I added a panel of Soft Suede cardstock 5” by 2¼” behind the upper left hand corner of the dsp before adding the whole piece to a Thick Whisper White card base. The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and trimmed out with Scissors. I felt the sentiment needed a pop of colour so added a small piece of Berry Burst cardstock punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. Perfect………looks good enough to eat.

  1. Your card makes me want to go on a picnic Mo! That French bread is very inviting, lol. How fun that (so far) I’ve seen a couple of demos who are so close(ish!) to where I am

    • Glad you liked the card Karen. This is my first blog hop and it is such fun making contact with other demos in the UK and abroad x

    • Thank you, I’ve been using this touch of colour behind the image in a number of projects recently. Like you I really like the effect. x

  2. Mo – The detail that you have put into your card is amazing. The colors that you used for the content of the basket are gorgeous. I especially like the multi-colored apples. They look very realistic. The textures and layers of the card also add perfect touches. I’m with you on being over winter and more than ready for spring. By the way, my dad was in the US Air Force and stationed in England. We lived at RAF Lakenheath for a few years when I was around 10 years old. Our family loved the area. Great to “meet” you on the blog hop. See you next month!!

    • Thank you so much Laurie, so glad you liked my card and I too loved the way the apples turned out. That was definitely a Whoop Whoop moment. How funny, Thetford is only about 40 minutes from me, a lovely part of the country. See you next month x
