Seaside theme for a Stamp-a-Stack

Thank you to the lovely ladies who joined me for my summer themed Stamp-a-Stack event this weekend. We had such a good time and made so many lovely cards.

All the projects for the day were seaside themed to get us into the mood for the fore-casted high temperatures later this week. On arrival each lady was given a clear wallet containing a pack of By the Shore dsp, 20 card bases in a variety of co-ordinating colours, a pack of Metallic Enamel Shapes, 20 Very Vanilla Envelopes and packets of pre-cut card stock layers to make each card. Mind you we all had a good laugh when we realised that I had only put 10 card bases in each pack………definitely a muppet moment. Luckily I only live 3 minutes away and was able to nip home and grab more cardstock to cut and score the missing bases.

As always the day whizzed by so quickly. Here is a picture of some of the ladies hard at work and of some of the projects they made.

Custom Tee and T-Shirt Builder go military

Yesterday was my son’s birthday and as he is an Officer Cadet at Sandhurst Military Academy I wanted to make him a card with a military theme. After scratching my head and trying out a few ideas, this is what I have come up with.

I decided on the T-Shirt Builder Framelits dies as main element of the card. The regulation issue T-Shirts are a dark brown so I stamped the large T-Shirt from the Custom Tee stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink onto Chocolate Chip cardstock and die cut using the co-ordinating T-Shirts Builder Framelit dies.  Although this looked OK I really wanted to add a camouflage element to the card. So, I got out the ‘splodgy’ stamp from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set and set to with Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke and Wild Wasabi ink and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I also used the oval stamp from the Beetles & Bugs stamp set to add a different texture to the camo. I die cut a T-Shirt using the same die from the stamped panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Designer Tee stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink onto a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock. Both T-Shirts were then mounted onto the Very Vanilla panel, the camouflage one glued on with Tombow Liquid Adhesive and the Chocolate Chip one added over the top with Stampin Dimensionals. A layer of Wild Wasabi was added behind. This whole piece was then layered onto a Crumb Cake card base.

I am pleased with how the card turned out and really hope my son liked it.

Custom Tee – makes great masculine cards

I have been making a very simple masculine birthday card today using the Custom Tee stamp set by Stampin’ Up! – this set is available in the Spring/Summer 2017 catalogue. I have also used the Designer Tee stamp set which co-ordinates with the Custom Tee set and is one of the options in the Sale-A- Bration brochure – you can choose one free item from this brochure for every £45 you spend until the end of March 2017.

I stamped the larger T-shirt image from the Custom Tee stamp set using Pacific Point ink onto Whisper White cardstock. The sentiment from the Designer Tee stamp set was stamped using the same ink and the T-shirt was then die cut using the co-ordinating T-shirt Builder framelit dies.

I added the die cut piece to a panel of Whisper White cardstock using dimensionals and stamped the Happy Birthday (I love the font) from the Designer Tee stamp set beneath. I add a strip of Silver Foil Paper to either side of the Whisper White panel before layering it to the front of a Pacific Point card base.

I decorated the envelope and the inside of the card using a smiley face stamp from the Hello stamp set, now retired – it was one of last year’s Sale-A-Bration choices.

I really like the uncluttered look of this card and I love the Pacific Point which is a colour I don’t often use.

Custom Tee used for a thank you card

The Custom Tee stamp set with its co-ordinating T-Shirt Builder Framelit Dies was one of the first bundles that caught my eye in the new Spring/Summer catalogue. I have 2 runners in the family and a daughter who is sport mad and this is such a versatile set for sports fans and so much more.  It would make great hen party invites.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stampin’ Up! – Custom Tee stamp set and T-shirt Builder diesI chose a Crumb Cake card base for today’s card. I stamped the girly style T-shirt onto 3 different patterned pieces all from the Sending Love 6” x 6” designer paper stack. The colour palette for this paper stack is Real Red and Whisper White and although the set is ‘Valentine’ themed, the papers can be used for lots of other occasions.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stampin’ Up! – Custom Tee stamp set and T-Shirt Builder diesThe T-shirts were stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut using the T-Shirt Builder Framelit Dies. I inked around the edges with a Sponge Dauber and the Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I mounted the 2 paler T-shirts onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock using Tombow Liquid Adhesive, one at either end. The darker T-shirt was mounted in the middle using Dimensionals.

I added a strip of Real Red cardstock at the top and bottom of the Whisper White panel. The Basic Black cardstock strip was added to hide a booboo with the Tombow!!! Luckily I really liked how it looked. There is almost always something you can do to cover a mistake…….ask me how I know………

I stamped the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and adhered the Whisper White cardstock panel to the card base using Dimensionals.

For the inside of the card I stamped a Whisper White panel with the T-shirt image and added some of the tiny flowers included in the set, using Real Red ink. I stamped the same image onto the envelope to complete the project.

I am really happy with how the card looks. Clean, simple and very effective. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Please drop in again soon.
