Floral Thank You card using the Touches of Texture stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Touches of Texture for a thank you card

Today I have been using the Touches of Texture stamp set to make a simple thank you card.

I began with a panel of Whisper White cardstock 4⅛” by 3⅛”, I corner rounded the upper right corner of the panel using the Detailed Trio Punch which will be available in my online store from the 1st June 2018. I then stamped the delicate floral spray in Crumb Cake ink.

I coloured in the image using the following Stampin’ Blends; Light Cherry Cobbler, Light & Dark Calypso Coral and Light Old Olive. I love the depth of colour the Blends give to a project. I backed the stamped panel onto a 4¼” by 3¼” layer of Pear Pizzazz cardstock using Tombow Liquid Adhesive, having rounded the upper right hand corner.

I added a strip of Fast Fuse adhesive to the back of the panel on the left  and added some Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon, ruching it up and sticking it down as I went.

I cut a 4” by 4” piece of Tutti-Frutti dsp using my Stampin’ Trimmer and cut it at a diagonal. I added a thin strip of Crumb Cake cardstock to the edge and adhered the piece to the front of a Whisper White card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The stamped panel was then added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and flagged the end. I added a small strip of dsp to the bottom of the sentiment and added it to the card front with Tombow. To complete the card I added some Subtles Enamel Dots. Such a sweet card.

Delicate thank you card using Touches of Texture

This is a sweet and simple thank you card made using the Touches of Texture stamp set.

I stamped the dainty flower image from the set onto a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock using Early Espresso ink. I coloured the flowers and buds using a So Saffron Marker and the leaves with an Old Olive Marker keeping it as simple as possible.

The Very Vanilla panel was added to a layer of Old Olive cardstock using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped some Linen Thread 3 times around the topper and tied in a bow at the front before adding the whole panel  to a So Saffron card base using  Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a sentiment from the Banners For You stamp set in Old Olive ink. To finish the card I added some Old Olive Enamel Shapes from the Brights collection.

I hope you like today’s project.

Touches of Texture for a Team Challenge

I made this simple but elegant card for my team challenge this month.  The challenge was to interpret a sketch, something that I find quite difficult to do – sorry I can’t work out how to copy the sketch onto this page – I am not known for my IT skills…..

I chose to use the lovely Touches of Texture stamp set for this card. I stamped the lacy pattern stamp onto Whisper White cardstock using Rose Red ink, this is such a pretty, dainty stamp. The flower spray was stamped in Early Espresso ink and coloured in using a Blender Pen and the Rose Red ink pad and Crumb Cake ink pad.

I stamped the sentiment from the new Crafting Forever stamp set – love this set as well- in Rose Red ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. I die cut this out using my Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes Framelits and then die cut a scalloped circle from Rose Red cardstock. I adhered the 2 together using Tombow Liquid Adhesive and added them to the stamped piece using Dimensionals having added some Gold Metallic Thread to the back. The whole panel was added to a layer of Early Espresso cardstock, then a layer of Whisper White cardstock. The panel was then added to a Rose Red card base using Dimensionals. I added a Gold Faceted Gem to the circle topper for a bit of bling.

I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock with Tombow Liquid Adhesive to the inside of the card having stamped the pretty lacy image along the bottom in Rose Red ink. I made 6 of these lovely cards to send out to people who have nit managed to get to a class in the last few months – just to say Hi, thinking of you.

Colorful Seasons for a beautiful Summery card

Playing with another new stamp set today it is called Colorful Seasons and as the name suggests it has images which cover the whole year from Spring flowers, through Summer deck chairs, Autumn leaves and Winter snowflakes. What great value for money. There is also a co-ordinating die set called Seasonal Layers which I am not using today.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Colorful Seasons stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I cut a panel of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the frame of the deckchair from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Archival Basic Gray ink. Using Sahara Sand ink I stamped the ‘swooshy’ stamp from the Touches of Texture stamp set to give the illusion of ground under the deckchair. I used the ‘kissing technique’ to add the fun pattern to the cloth of the deckchair. To do this I inked up the solid deckchair cloth image in Blushing Bride ink and inked up the intricate floral stamp from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and ‘kissed’ the 2 together before stamping the deckchair cloth image onto the stamped frame. Absolutely love this effect, it looks fabulous.

I stamped the small branch in the upper left hand corner using Sahara Sand ink and added the buds in Watermelon Wonder ink, sadly now retired. I rounded the upper right hand corner of the stamped piece and added it, using Tombow Liquid Adhesive to a layer of Basic Gray cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set in Watermelon Wonder ink onto a layer of Whisper White cardstock, just over half way up and added the stamped piece on Stampin’ Dimensionals just below. This panel was then added to a card base of Watermelon Wonder cardstock.

Such a cool looking card, all ready for a long hot summer………….we can but dream……
