Sweet Animal Outings card featuring the Giraffes by Stampin' Up!

Animal Outings gorgeous Giraffes

Today I have been playing with the quirky Animal Outing stamp set. I was lucky enough to go to OnStage in April and this was an all attendee gift ……..lucky me. For those that don’t know OnStage is the fantastic twice yearly event  for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators where we get together to try out new product, new techniques and generally have a fantastic crafty time. This is the first time I have had a chance to play with this fabulous set.

Making the Card

I started by stamping the circle from the Swirly Frames stamp set in Granny Apple Green ink onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock 3 ½” by 3 ½”. I then cut this out using the Layering Circle dies and my Big Shot. I masked off the edge of the die cut circle and stamped the sweet leaf image randomly on the inside of the circle. Using a Blender Pen I pulled in the colour from the edges of the leaves to give them a little depth.

Taking some scrap Whisper White cardstock I stamped 2 giraffes from the Animal Outings stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut both images using the Animal Friends dies and my Big Shot. I coloured both images using the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

I added the stamped circle to a panel of Whisper White measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” and placed the giraffes onto  the circle, one with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the other on Stampin’ Dimensionals…….. they looks so cute.

I rounded the upper left and lower right corners with the Detailed Trio Punch and added the panel to a layer of So Saffron cardstock  5⅝” by 3⅞” with identical rounded corners. I then added the panel to a Granny Apple Green card base with the same rounded corners.

I punched out a number of leaves from Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Leaf Punch and tucked them around the circle.

This is such a sweet card. I hope you like it.

Petal Passion Stamp-a-Stack

Saturday saw some of my lovely ladies gathering for another Stamp-a-Stack. This time their pack included the gorgeous black and white Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and a pack of Black Rhinestones. The black and white paper is so versatile: you can colour it with Marker Pens or the new Stampin’ Blends. You can stamp on it or add colour with sponges, daubers or Sponge Brayers.

Stampin Blends and Graceful Garden

Oooohhh I have the new Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Pens and I am not afraid to use them…………..they are fab-U-lous.

I stamped the large flower image from the Graceful Garden stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4¾” by 3⅝” and coloured it in starting with the flower petals and the light Cherry Cobbler pen. I added shadow with the dark Cherry Cobbler pen and went over each petal again with the light colour. As these are alcohol based pens it is best to only colour small areas otherwise the ink dries. Move onto the next few petals and repeat. I coloured the stem and leaves in the same way using the light and dark Old Olive pens.

I placed the large geometric patterned stamp onto the clear block E and stamped it on opposite corners of the Whisper White panel using Cherry Cobbler ink. The sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set was stamped in Old Olive ink.

I rounded the opposite corners using the WRMK’s corner rounder and added the panel to a layer of Basic Black cardstock using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. To finish I added some Black Rhinestones to pull the card together. I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” and stamped the geometric design in the corner and onto the Whisper White Envelope.

I really love these pens, they are so easy to use and give great depth to the coloured images.

I stamped the geometric design again on to opposite corners of a Real Red card base and added a piece of Old Olive cardstock 4⅛” by 2½” to the card front using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The flower stamped panel was then added to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
