A pretty New Year card made for the New Year Blog Hop using the lovely Light in the Sky stamp set by Stampin' Up! and an emboss resist technique

Fireworks New Year card for the New Years Celebrations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the New Year Celebrations Blog Hop where we are celebrating…….. you’ve got it, the new year. I love to see the fireworks on New Years Eve and have used the Light the Sky stamp set and some embossing to make colourful fireworkd card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the fireworks card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Berry Burst card – 5⅝” by 3⅜”
Starry Sky card – 5½” by 3¼”
Scrap Starry Sky card

Using a Blending Brush I added Starry Sky ink around all four sides of the card, leaving the centre un-inked. Using the same Blending Brush I added Night of Navy ink in all 4 corners of the card. I then set the card aside to dry.

I stamped the sentiment onto the panel – it was squint……… don’t you hate it when that happens. So I stamped it again in Versamark ink onto scrap Starry Sky card, I embossed it with White Embossing Powder and die cut it using the Stylish Shapes Dies

To Recreate the Beautiful Promenade card you will need;

Thick Whisper White card base
Whisper White cardstock 5⅞” by 2”

A pretty birthday card made using the Butterfly Gala stamp set and embossed resist technique

Emboss Resist Butterfly Gala for a Inspire Create Challenge #032

I have been playing with ideas for next year’s classes and came up with this one using the emboss resist technique and the gorgeous Butterfly Gala stamp set. It was the perfect card for the Inspire Create Challenge #032. This is a sketch challenge but the image shows only a blank page so we can submit anything at all for the challenge.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅞” by 2⅛”. I ran over the panel with my embossing buddy to get rid of static and stamped one of the lovely double butterfly images randomly down the panel in Versamark ink. I covered the Versamark ink with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

I inked up one of the sponge brayers with Lemon Lime Twist ink and inked up the bottom third of the stamped panel. I then added Balmy Blue ink to the middle of the panel and Highland Heather to the top of the panel making sure to blend the layers together. I wiped over the panel with some kitchen paper to remove the excess ink from the embossed butterflies and set the panel aside to dry. When dry I glued it to a 5⅞” by 2⅜”piece of Botanical Butterfly dsp.

Taking a Thick Whisper White card base I stamped the double butterfly down the card front in the same order of ink. The stamped and embossed panel was added with multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to the centre left of the card front with the stamped butterflies peeking out.

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Life stamp set in Versamark ink, added Whisper White embossing powder and heat set it. This was added to the card front with liquid adhesive and some basic rhinestones were then added to complete the card.

Love this colour combo, such a pretty card. I am delighted to say I won this challenge!!
