A pretty card made for the Colour Combo Blog Hop using the Botanical Layers stamp set

Botanical Layers card made for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Colour Combo Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using:

Colours used in this project are:

I have used the pretty Botanical Layers stamp set to make my card which was inspired by a card made by Lauri Meier – https://stampedgreetings.com/botanical-layers-cards-stamping-over-technique/

To recreate the botanical layers card, you will need:

Crumb cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Gorgeous Grape card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Gorgeous Grape card – 4⅛” by ¼” x 2
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner

I stamped the sentiment in the lower right corner of the smaller Basic White panel in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Using Masking Paper, I masked off 1½” from the bottom of the same panel.

The largest leafy sprig was inked up with Fresh Freesia ink, stamped off and stamped onto the panel. I repeated this step 3 or 4 times to provide a base.

I added the delicate, feathery sprig in Crumb Cake ink and finally added the bolder leafy image in Gorgeous Grape ink. I absolutely love this colour combo. I removed the Masking Paper.

A length of Natural Finish Ribbon was wrapped around the panel to disguise the messy edge. I added the strips of Gorgeous Grape card on top of the ribbon, folding the edges around to the back securing them with Sellotape.

A trio of Pastel Pearls completed the card. I love it.

Here is a sweet positive thoughts card made for the Colour Combo Blog Hop where our colours are:

Harvest Coneflowers for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Colour Combo Blog Hop where I have made a sweet harvest coneflowers thank you card. I love this hop as often the colours are not ones I would have gravitated towards or not those I would have put together and tis is certainly the case today.

To recreate the harvest coneflowers thank you card, you will need:

Cinnamon Cider card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Very Vanilla – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Cork dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Blushing Bride – 4⅞” by 3⅛”
Very Vanilla – 4½” by 3”
Very Vanilla – 5½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside
Scrap Very Vanilla

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, I adhered the Cork dsp to the larger Very Vanilla panel. The layer was then added, using the same liquid glue, to the Cinnamon Cider card base.

A pretty sailing diaroma made using Stampin' Up! products for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Sailing Diorama card for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Colour Combo blog hop where I have made a sailing diorama using this months colours which  are:

And I have added a tiny bit of Daffodil Delight for the light of the lighthouse

To recreate the Sailing Diorama card, you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Gray Granite card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

I began by using the Layering Diorama dies and my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut the centre from the 5⅜” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White. I put the centre piece to one side.

A pretty sailing diaroma made using Stampin' Up! products for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A Sailing Diorama card made for the Colour Combo Blog Hop and using the Sailing Home and Mountain Air stamp sets

Using Blending Brushes, I added Gray Granite ink to the bottom of the outer panel and Bermuda Bay ink to the upper part of the outer panel. I added some texture to the bottom using the dotty image from the Quiet Meadow stamp set and Gray Granite ink.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A Sailing Diorama card made for the Colour Combo Blog Hop and using the Sailing Home and Mountain Air stamp sets

Taking the inner piece I stamped the mountains, from the Mountain Air stamp set in Gray Granite ink and muddied the bottom using the small ‘cloud’ image from the Mountain Air stamp set in 2nd and 3rd generation Gray Granite. The sea and sky were both inked with Bermuda Bay ink, I just went lighter with the sky and added a 1” circle mask for the moon. The sea texture was added using a stamp from the Arctic Bears stamp set in Bermuda Bay. I place the 2 pieces of inked card together and stamped some birds, from the Mountain Air stamp set, randomly in the sky.

Using the Stamparatus, I stamped the lighthouse, from the Sailing Home stamp set in Gray Granite ink and repeated the step to get a slightly darker colour. I used a Blender Pen to add ink and to smooth out the colour a little. I also added a little Daffodil Delight ink as a lighthouse is nothing without a light! The lighthouse was added with glue and Dimensionals overlapping the inset panel.

Such a sweet card. I hope you like it.

Colour Combo Blog Hop - masculine card made using the Handsomely Suited stamp set and Suit & Ties Dies

Trio of Ties

Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp n’ Hop Blog Hop where this month we have a colour challenge. The colours are Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow and my first thoughts were great colours for a trio of ties masculine card. With this in mind I have chosen to use the Handsomely Suited stamp set.

The Colour Combo used on this project:

To recreate the Trio of Ties card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card Base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Dandy Garden dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Mossy Meadow – 4¼” by 3”
Basic White – 4⅛” by 2⅞”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside
Scrap Basic White

I glued the Dandy Garden dsp to the larger panel of Basic White card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using some of the White Twine from the Snail Mail Twine pack to wrap around the panel, adhering it on the reverse with Sellotape. I used the liquid glue to adhere the panel to the Crumb Cake card base.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the ties onto the smallest panel to Basic White. I used the following Blends Markers to colour in the ties – Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.

The stamped layer was then added with liquid glue to the Mossy Meadow layer. The whole panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I placed the Many Messages stamp into the Stamparatus, inked it up in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped down onto a panel of Basic White. I used the Messages Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut out the sentiments. I keep the spare sentiments in a stamp case.

The sentiment was added with a Dimensional on the left and liquid glue on the right. I added a single 2020-2022 In Color Dot to complete the card.
