A sweet summery congratulations card made for the CAS Colours and Sketches #308 challenge

Dear Doily for the CAS Colours and Sketches #308 Challenge

Today I am sharing a bright, sunny card made using the Dear Doily stamp set for the CAS Colours and Sketches #308 challenge. I love the simplicity of the sketch and used that as my starting point.

Making the card

I started with a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝”. I inked up the large doily stamp from the Dear Doily stamp set with Lemon Lime Twist ink and stamped it onto the cardstock panel.

I stamped the smallest doily image in Bermuda Bay ink slightly overlapping the larger doily. I rounded the upper left corner with the Detailed Trio Punch and added the panel to a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock with an identical rounded corner.

The sentiment from the Perfectly Paired stamp set was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto a ⅜” strip of Whisper White cardstock and cut it to size and flagging the ends with sharp scissors. I added a slightly longer strip of Bermuda Bay cardstock ¼” wide and trimmed it down so that it was slightly longer each side and adhered it to the sentiment with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The whole panel was added with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to a Lemon Lime Twist card base. The sentiment was then added to the card front on Dimensional Adhesive and a scattering of sequins added to finish the card front.

I stamped the large doily in Bermuda Bay ink onto a Whisper White panel 5⅜” by 3⅝” with a rounded upper left hand corner and glued it to the inside of the card. The same image was stamped onto a Whisper White envelope.

A quirky card made for the JAI #442 challenge using the Dear Doily and Wonderful Romance stamp sets

Dear Doily for the Just Add Ink #442 challenge

I have made such a sweet card today for the Just Add Ink #442 challenge. This challenge this week is a really quirky sketch which I thought would work perfectly with the Dear Doily stamp set and the co-ordinating Doily Builder dies.

Making the card

I began by stamping the sentiment from the Dear Doily stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink onto a scarp panel of Whisper White. I used one of the doily dies from the Doily Builder Stamp set, I didn’t realise that the die I chose would cut out the circle die and the inside of the circle separately……… When I placed the white circle die cut and the pierced rim onto the panel of Rich Razzelberry cardstock, measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” it didn’t look right. After a bit of trial and error I settled for die cutting the same piece from Mint Macaron cardstock and adding back the stamped Whisper White centre.

I stamped the leafy frond from the Wonderful Romance stamp set in Rich Razzelberry ink onto the Rich Razzelberry panel and mounted the stamped doily piece in the centre on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Wonderful Floral dies and my Big Shot I cut some leaves from scrap Petal Pink cardstock and from Vellum cardstock and tucked them in under the doily using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to secure them. I love the embossed texture on these leaves.

The whole Rich Razzelberry panel was layered onto a Whisper White piece measuring 5 ½” by 3 ¾” with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This panel was then added to a Petal Pink card base. A trio of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls finished off the card front.

I am really happy with how this card turned out and I really love the swirly font of this sentiment.
