Copper Masked Butterflies Card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are using a masking technique to create our projects today.

Colours used to make this card are:

I created the copper masked butterflies card using the following supplies:

Azure Afternoon card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Lemon Lime Twist – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Basic White – 3 ¼” by ½”
Scrap – Basic White

I embossed the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card using the Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder and adhered the embossed panel to the Lemon Lime Twist layer and then to the Azure Afternoon card front.

Fern & Flora Card

I have made a striking blackout card made using the Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder and some bright and cheerful colours.

Colours found in this card are:

I created the fern & flora embossed blackout card using the following supplies:

Coastal Cabana card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Lemon Lolly – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White

I embossed the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card using the Fern & Flora 3D Embossing Folder.

Using Sponge Daubers I added ink to the reverse of the embossed panel. I used Lemon Lolly, Berry Burst, Timid Tiger and Coastal Cabana inks. The Sponge Daubers add the ink unevenly to the image and I really like the distressed effect it gives.

Next, I dragged my Secret Sea ink pad across the coloured reverse of the panel, love the way the colours pop against the dark colour.

The whole piece was glued to the Lemon Lolly panel before it was mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

I added a Linen Thread bow to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.
