Cherry Blossoms for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

Welcome to the Hopping Around the World Hop where our theme this month is ‘flowers’. If you have hopped over from Jennifer Downey’s blog or started the hop with me…..welcome. I have chosen to use the gorgeous Forever Blossoms stamp set which is part of the Parisian Suite in the new Spring/Summer catalogue.

To recreate the Cherry Blossoms card you will need:

Old Olive card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Basic Black 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White 5¼” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside
Old Olive 1” by 3 ½”
Whisper White ¾” by 3½”

I inked up the gorgeous, large blossom image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it randomly on the smaller Whisper White panel.

The image was coloured in using the following Blends Markers – open flowers in dark Daffodil Delight and light So Saffron. Buds using dark Daffodil Delight and dark So Saffron. The leaves and stems were coloured in using the Old Olive Combo. I added the dots around the flower centres with the dark Basic Black marker. Using a small paintbrush I flicked on some Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint onto the stamped panel.

The swirly leaves image was added to the lower right portion of the circle in Mint Macaron ink. I added a scattering of the adorable tiny flowers in Pool Party ink. The small sprig of leaves was stamped in the Mint Macaron at the top of the circle and a tiny flower added below.

I stamped the stripy flower onto scrap Whisper White card in Highland Heather, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo ink. These flowers were then punched out using the Small Blossom punch.

The flowers were given some dimension by curling the edged with my Bone Folder. The So Saffron flower was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather flowers in Dimensionals.

To complete the card I added a Basic Pearl to the centre of each flower.

I love the soft colour palette of this card, so pretty.
