Christmas Scene for the Christmas Stampathon

Today I am sharing the cards I made for the March Christmas Stampathon. Each month we are given a theme and asked to make 5 identical Christmas cards that fit each month’s theme. This month we are making cards featuring a Christmas scene and I have used the pretty Grassy Grove stamp set to make mine.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Christmas scene card, you will need:

Shaded Spruce card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Real Red card – 2¼” by ½”
Scrap Soft Suede card

Using Post It tape, I masked off the top and bottom of a one of Basic White panels. I used a Blending Brush to swirl on Pool Party ink.

Leaving the masking tape in position, I stamped the large ground image using Mossy Meadow ink. The tall pine trees were added in Shaded Spruce ink. The masking tape was then removed. The panel was then added to the Shaded Spruce card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the deer in Early Espresso ink onto scrap Soft Suede ink and die cut the image out using the Grove Dies. The deer was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Peaceful Deer stamp set, using Versamark ink onto the strip of Real Red card, covered it with Black Embossing Powder and Heat set it using a Heat Tool. I trimmed it down with scissors and added it to the card front using liquid glue.

Some Real Red Rhinestones completed the card.

Misty Trees

Today I am sharing a pretty Christmas card featuring misty trees made using the In The Pines stamp set and Pine Woods Dies.

To recreate the misty trees card, you will need:

Misty Moonlight card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Silver Foil -4½” by 3½” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Shaded Spruce – 4¼” by 3¼” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White – 4” by 3” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded Upper Left corner – for the inside
Soft Sea Foam & Whisper White

I stamped the row of trees across the smaller Whisper White panel in Misty Moonlight ink. I used first and second generation in, i.e. full strength and stamped off once. I added the ‘ground’ image in the same ink. Using a wedge of Sponge, I lightly added Misty Moonlight ink over the panel to suggest a misty day.

My Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine was used to die cut 3 of the tall trees. The Soft Sea Foam tree was cut from scrap card. The Shaded Spruce and Silver Foil trees were cut from the middle of the 2 layering pieces – no-one will ever know……
