A masculine birthday card featuring a trio of ties from the Handsomely Suited stamp set

Handsomely Suited for a Colour Combo challenge

Today I am sharing a masculine card made using some unusual colours. These colours were suggested by a friend as a bit of a challenge.

To recreate the handsomely suited card, you will need:

Pear Pizzazz card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Gray card – 4¾” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 4½” by 3”
Basic White card 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Strip of Basic White ⅜”
Scrap Basic White card

I stamped three ties onto a scrap piece of Basic White card using Basic Gray ink.

Using a Blending Brush, I added Pear Pizzazz ink to one of the and to the lower half of the second tie. I brushed Pumpkin Pie ink to the top half of the second tie and to the whole of the third tie.

Using my sharp scissors, I fussy cut around all of the ties and added them to the smaller panel of Basic White card. This panel was then glued to the Basic Gray layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The panel was then added on Dimensionals to the Pear Pizzazz card base.

The sentiment, from the Blossom in Bloom stamp set was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto the strip of Basic White card. I trimmed it down and added it to the card front with liquid glue.

I have to say these colours are not my favourite combo. What do you think?

Trio of Ties

Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp n’ Hop Blog Hop where this month we have a colour challenge. The colours are Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow and my first thoughts were great colours for a trio of ties masculine card. With this in mind I have chosen to use the Handsomely Suited stamp set.

The Colour Combo used on this project:

To recreate the Trio of Ties card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card Base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Dandy Garden dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Mossy Meadow – 4¼” by 3”
Basic White – 4⅛” by 2⅞”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside
Scrap Basic White

I glued the Dandy Garden dsp to the larger panel of Basic White card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using some of the White Twine from the Snail Mail Twine pack to wrap around the panel, adhering it on the reverse with Sellotape. I used the liquid glue to adhere the panel to the Crumb Cake card base.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the ties onto the smallest panel to Basic White. I used the following Blends Markers to colour in the ties – Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.

The stamped layer was then added with liquid glue to the Mossy Meadow layer. The whole panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I placed the Many Messages stamp into the Stamparatus, inked it up in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped down onto a panel of Basic White. I used the Messages Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut out the sentiments. I keep the spare sentiments in a stamp case.

The sentiment was added with a Dimensional on the left and liquid glue on the right. I added a single 2020-2022 In Color Dot to complete the card.

Here is a sweet and simple masculine ombre ties card made using the Handsomely Suited stamp set and some of the lovely Oh So Ombre dsp available as one of the free choices with a £45 order from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

To recreate the Ombre Ties card, you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛
Night of Navy – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Oh So Ombre dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Scrap Night of Navy

Using the pair of ties from the Handsomely Suited stamp set and Night of Navy ink I stamped the ties onto the panel of Oh So Ombre dsp.

I started stamping in the upper left corner, alternating the ties down to the right-hand bottom corner. I then infilled the blanks with the same images.

I managed to smudge one of the images in the upper left corner and decided to cover the damage with my sentiment.

Using the Night of Navy Twine I wrapped it 3 times around the dsp, securing it on the back with Sellotape. The panel was adhered to the Night of Navy panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. Using the same glue I attached the panel to the Bermuda Bay card base.
