Stampin' Up! Jar of Flowers stamp set used to make a pretty floral card

Blue Glass Jar

Today I am sharing a blue glass jar card inspired by a Youtube video made by a fellow demonstrator Kathy of Kathy’s Stampin World –  – she made a really cute card with a milk glass effect mason jar and I thought I would give it a try.

To recreate the Blue Glass Jar card  you will need:

Just Jade card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
So Saffron – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Scrap Whisper White

I began by painting the inside of the mason jar with blue metallic paint and setting it aside to dry. Once dry it was very patchy so I gave it another coat using a green metallic paint and again set it to one side to dry. I really liked the 2 tone look this gave.

Using the Jar Punch I punched out the jar from one of the Whisper White panels. The mason jar was inserted into the punched out hole and the protective adhesive layer removed to adhere it to the back of the Whisper White panel.

I popped the punched out Whisper White jar onto the back of the mason jar and adhered it with a little tape. The whole panel was added to the So Saffron layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was added to the Just Jade card base with the same glue.

I felt the panel looked a little bare so added some dots in Just Jade ink taking card to mask the sides not to get ink on the So Saffron layer or the card base.

The flowers were added to the card front on Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Country Home stamp set on scrap Whisper White card and cut out a tag with scissors. I added it to the jar with a glue dot and finished the card off with a double Linen Thread bow.

I hope you like it.
