Sunflower for Rae

Today I am sharing a sunflower for Rae card made for my lovely friend Rae’s birthday yesterday.

To recreate the sunflower for Rae card you will need:

Thick Very Vanilla card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
In Good Taste dsp – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Very Vanilla – 5” by 3¼”
Very Vanilla – 4” by 4”

I began by gluing the dsp panel to the Thick Very Vanilla card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I then stamped the large sunflower in Gray Granite ink onto the square of Very Vanilla card.

Using a sponge dauber I added Gray Granite ink to the centre of the flower before colouring in the bloom using the following Blends Markers – Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron and Gray Granite. I used an empty Wink of Stella Pen to add some Las Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint to the petals of the flower and die it out using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Sunflower dies.

I used a sponge to add a circle of So Saffron ink to the Very Vanilla panel and having worked out where my die cut sunflower was going began to stamp the leaf images from the Lovely You stamp set. I used 1st, 2nd & 3rd generation Bumblebee ink, Gray Granite ink and Granny Apple Green ink.

I added gold dots using Las Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint and the dotty stamp from the In The Pines stamp set. I wrapped a length of the lovely lace ribbon around the layer before adding the inked panel to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sunflower was added to the card front on Dimensionals and a bow was added with a Mini Glue Dot

I used the Family Party stamp set to stamp the greeting inside the card.

Such a pretty card, I hope Rae likes it

Lovely You Pick a Label

I absolutely love the Lovely You Pick a Label Punch and it works so well with the Lovely You stamp set. Today I am sharing a card made for a friend.

To recreate the Lovely You Pick a Label card you will need:

Melon Mambo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Highland Heather – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner x 2
Highland Heather strip 1” long
Whisper White strip ¾” long

I took one of the Whisper White panels and worked out where I was going to place the sentiment. I then started stamping the images making sure the stalks and messy ends would be covered by the sentiment.

The trio of leaves was stamped in Granny Apple Green ink, added the larger flower in Highland Heather ink, added the funny little blossoms in Pool Party ink and finally the pretty single flowers in Melon Mambo ink.

I always start with the largest image and ending with the smallest image. These colours work so well together don’t they?

I added some dots in Pool Party ink using a stamp from the Dressed to Impress stamp set. The stamped panel was then glued to the Highland Heather layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The panel was added to the Melon Mambo card base using the same adhesive.

The sentiment from the Lovely You stamp set was stamped in Highland Heather ink onto  the Whisper White strip and punched using the Lovely You Pick a Label Punch. The same punched was used to shape the Highland Heather strip which was added to the sentiment with the liquid Adhesive.

The stamped sentiment was added to the card base on Dimensionals, covering all the stems and messy stamping. A trio of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots was added to complete the card.

Here is a sweet summery card made using the Lovely You stamp set from the new annual catalogue. I love the sets with lots of small images and a good selection of sentiments don’t you?

To recreate the Lovely You card you will need:

Terracotta Tile card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Mint Macaron – 4⅝” by 3⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 4 ½” by 3” -– rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner – for the inside
Mint Macaron – 2” by 2”
Whisper White – 2” by 2”

I began by stamping the filigree border image from the Very Versailles stamp set in Terracotta Tile ink across the middle of the smaller Whisper White panel.

The largest leafy image from the Lovely You stamp set was stamped in 2nd generation Mint Macaron ink, the longer leafy image was added with Old Olive ink.

I inked up the larger flower with Crushed Curry ink and stamped it along side the leaves. The single flower was stamped in Terracotta Tile ink to fill up the white space. The stamped layer was added to the Mint Macaron panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sweet sentiment comes from the Lovely You stamp set and was stamped in Terracotta Tile ink onto the 2” square of Whisper White. This was cut out using the Stitched Shapes Dies. I also cut out a scalloped circle from the Layering Circle Dies and glued the two circles together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the larger leafy image in Terracotta Tile ink in the upper left and lower right corner of the Terracotta Tile card base. The stamped layer was added on Dimensionals and the sentiment place on top with liquid glue.

To complete the card I added a trio of Holiday Rhinestones.
