A pretty anniversary card made using the mirror technique for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop and using the Playing in the Rain stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Turtle Love card for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are showcasing projects made using the ‘mirror technique’. I have used the cute Playing in the Rain stamp set to make this ‘turtle love’ anniversary card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the turtle love card, you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pecan Pie card – 4¾” by 3”
Basic White card – 4⅝” by 2⅞”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Pecan Pie card – 2” by ¼”

Using the smaller daisy outline image, I stamped in the upper left and lower right corners of the Flirty Flamingo card front with Flirty Flamingo ink.

I inked up the sweet turtle image from the Playing in the Rain stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped on the left side of the smaller panel of Basic White card.

The same image was then mounted onto the Stamparatus Plate and stamped in the same ink onto the Silicon craft sheet. I repeated this step to make sure I had a good strong image.

I lifted the silicon sheet up, turned it face down and placed it onto the Basic White panel next to the previously stamped turtle. I rubbed it lightly and left it in position for a minute or two to allow the ink to transfer.

The turtles were then coloured using the following Blends Pens – Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, Pecan Pie and Pebbled Path.

I used Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight Blends to colour in the flower. The ground was coloured with Crumb Cake Blends Pens and the small grassy image was stamped in 1st & 2nd generation Granny Apple Green ink. A Blending Brush was used to add some Balmy Blue ink to the ‘sky’.

The decorated panel was added to the Pecan Pie panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was mounted onto the Flirty Flamingo card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Love For You stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto the strip of Pecan Pie card. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it before adding it to the card front.

Such a cute card. Please hop on to share the other inspiring projects provided by my stamping friends.

Mirrored Campervan for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing our favourite Stampin’ Up! Products. So much to choose from – eventually I settled on our fabulous Stamparatus and decided to showcase the mirror technique and make a sweet mirrored campervan card for a friend’s anniversary.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the mirrored campervan card, you will need:

Polished Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Balmy Blue card – 5 ½” by 3⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside
Scrap Basic White

I mounted the campervan image on the Stamparatus plate and stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the smaller panel of Basic White card.  I moved the plate along 2 hinge steps, placed the Silicon Mat on top of the stamped image, inked up and stamped onto the Silicon Mat. I repeated this step to get a darker image.

The Silicon Mat was turned over, lined up next to the original stamped image inked side down. I then stamped the image down on the back of the Silicon Mat to provide the pressure to imprint the image. Lifted the Silicon Mat and voila we had a mirror image!

The heart from the Sweet Conversations stamp set was stamped, between the 2 campervans, in Real Red ink. Using the following Blends, I coloured the images in – Polished Pink, Balmy Blue, So Saffron, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, Basic Black & the Color Lifter.

Using the Light Smoky Slate Blends pen, I coloured a length of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and wrapped it around the stamped panel. The panel was then adhered to the Balmy Blue layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then added to the Polished Pink card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto scrap Basic White card and die cut using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Seasonal Labels Dies. It was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

To complete the card, I added a bow using the same-coloured Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and a trio of Classic Matte Dots.

Please hop on to see what my fellow demonstrators have to share with us today.
