The Brewed for You stamp set used for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog hop where our theme is monochrome

Brewed in Monochrome card

I have used the Brewed For You stamp set to make a sweet brewed in monochrome card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the brewed in ombre card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Crumb Cake card – 5½” by 3¾”
Soft Suede card – 3⅜” by 2”
Very Vanilla card – 3” by 1½”
Gold Foil – 2” by 2”
Very Vanilla card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I began by stamping the glass randomly all over the Crumb Cake panel in Crumb Cake ink. I wrapped some Very Vanilla Twine around the panel before it was added to the Crumb Cake card front using Mini Glue Dots. I wanted a little height but not as much as Dimensionals would give. Mini Glue Dots were the perfect compromise.

The Deckled Rectangles Dies were used to cut rectangles from the small pieces of Soft Suede and Very Vanilla card.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink at the bottom of the rectangle. The glass was then stamped above in Early Espresso ink onto the die cut vanilla rectangle and the liquid added in Soft Suede ink. I added the bubbles using the same ink.

The stamped rectangle was glued to the Soft Suede deckled rectangle. I had a Gold Foil hexagon on my desk, cut for another project using the Beautiful Shapes Dies and not used. I cut the hexagon in half and glued these to the top and bottom of the topper piece.

The Garden Birdhousestamp set used for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog hop where our theme is a shades of blue monochrome project

Blue Birdhouses for the Stamping Inkspiations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we have be challenged to create a monochromatic project using only shades of blue. After a lot of trial and error I opted to use the Garden Birdhouse stamp set to make a blue birdhouse card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the blue birdhouses card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Starry Sky card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Night of Navy card – 2⅝” by ⅜”

Using Pool Party ink, I stamped the leafy branch across the top and down the sides of the smaller panel of Basic White card.

The bird houses, poles and hanger were then stamped in Night of Navy ink. I added a tiny bird standing on top of one of the birdhouses.

I used the following Blends Pens to colour in all the birdhouses and the poles – Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and the retired Seaside Spray and Pretty Peacock.

The background white card looked too stark so I added Pool Party ink, very lightly using a Blending Brush. The panel was the added to the Starry Sky panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole panel was mounted onto the Pool Party card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Friends are like Seashells stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto the strip of Night of Navy card, covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a Heat Tool. I added it to the card front with glue.

A sweet monochromatic thank you card made using the Very Versailles stamp set for a team challenge

Very Versailles in Monochrome

Today’s card was made for our latest team challenge – the theme is Monochrome. I have used the gorgeous Very Versailles stamp set and Early Espresso ink to get a sepia inspired card.

To recreate the Very Versailles Monochrome card you will need:

Early Espresso card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝ x 2 – rounded upper right corner
Early Espresso – 3” by 3”
Whisper White – 3” by 3”

I wanted the stunningly intricate frameto be the focal point of the card so began by stamping  it in full strength  or 1st generation Early Espresso ink. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in 1st generation Early Espresso ink.

The image was then die cut using the Stitched Shapes dies. Whilst I was at the Big Shot I die cut a slightly larger scalloped Early Espresso circle using the Layering Circle dies. The 2 circles were glued together using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the leaf image twice in 3rd generation Early Espresso ink and added the script image in 4th generation Early Espresso ink.

I used the same images to decorate the inside panel and the envelope.

A monochromatic birthday card made using the Bloom by Bloom stamp set

Monochromatic Bloom by Bloom

Today I am sharing a sweet monochromatic card made for the latest Inspire Create #40 Challenge. It is a colour challenge this time and the colours are Black and White.

Making the monochromatic card

You will need;
Thick Whisper White card base – rounded upper right corner
Basic Black – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner
Basic Black – 3⅝” by 1⅝”
Whisper White – 3⅝” by 1½”

I began by masking off a 1½” strip of the larger Whisper White panel using a Post It note.

www.crafty-rootes.com – a sophisticated card made using the Bloom by Bloom stamp set for the Inspire Create #40 Challenge

I randomly stamped a variety of the flowers and leaf images from the Bloom by Bloom stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink above and below the masked area taking care to overlap the masked area. I rounded the upper right corner of the stamped panel and added it to the Basic Black layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I placed the small Whisper White strip into the Stamparatus and positioned the sentiment stamp, from the Blow Out The Candles stamp set. I picked the stamp up with one of the plates.

The stamp was then inked up using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped down on the panel of white cardstock. I repeated this step twice to get a good dark image. I stamped a couple of the small flowers either side of the sentiment.

This panel was then added to the remaining panel of Basic Black cardstock with the same glue and added to the card front with Dimensionals. The whole panel was then added to the Thick Whisper White card base using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped a couple of the images inside the card and on the envelope and added a scattering of Rhinestones to the front of the card

I am really happy with how this monochromatic card  turned out. I hope you like it.
