A get well card made using the Make and Take supplies from OnStage including a piece of the Perennial Essence dsp

Perennial Essence sneak peek

Today I am sharing a card made using some of the Make & Take supplies from OnStage. I hardly ever get around to making the projects up on the day, usually too busy talking……… When I do get around to making them up I often go rogue and create something different with the supplies we were given. Here is the card made using some of the supplies from the Perennial Essence suite.

Recreating the Perennial Essence dsp card

Blackberry Bliss card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded lower left corner
Whisper White cardstock 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – rounded lower left corner
Perennial Essence dsp – 5¼” by 3½” – rounded lower left corner
Blackberry Bliss cardstock 2⅛” by 2⅛” – rounded lower left corner
Whisper White cardstock 2” by 2” – rounded lower left corner
Scrap of Perennial Essence Vellum

I trimmed down the designer series paper (dsp) panel from the Make & Take pack to the size I needed, rounded the lower left corner with the Detailed Trio Punch. I adhered the dsp to Whisper White panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I wrapped a length of the Polka Dot Tulle around the panel and attached it on the back with Sellotape. The whole panel was then glued to the Blackberry Bliss card base with the liquid adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set it Blackberry Bliss onto the small square of Whisper White cardstock and glued it to the square of Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the liquid adhesive. This piece was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I die cut 3 flowers from the Well Written dies using my Big Shot and added them to the sentiment panel with Mini Glue Dots and added some Artisan Pearls to the centres of the flowers. A Polka Dot Tulle bow was then added with another Mini Glue Dot.

I have to say this dsp is absolutely stunning, very Monet-esque and the colour palette is gorgeous. I hope you like the card.

Doily Builder Swaps for OnStage

Today I am sharing the swaps I made using the gorgeous Doily Builder dies for this weekend’s OnStage event in Telford. This is a demonstrator only event where we get to meet friends, see new product, play with new stuff and generally have a lot of fun.

Making the Doily Builder card swap

Swaps for OnStage made using the gorgeous Doily Builder dies by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.com – A glorious Spring coloured card front using the Doily Builder dies by Stampin’ Up!

You will need;
Window Sheet 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Whisper White cardstock 5⅛” by 3½” – Rounded upper right corner
Either Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo or So Saffron cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper right corner
Scraps of Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron cardstock, Whisper White & Gray Granite cardstock for die cutting and punching

I began by cutting the large doily into the Window sheet using my Big Shot. This gave me a sturdy stencil that could be used multiple times over.

I placed the mask onto the Whisper White panel, holding it in place with my finger. I inked up the stencil using So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana inks in random orders. I moved the stencil and repeated again using the colours randomly.

I stamped the sentiment in Gray Granite ink onto scrap Whisper White and punched it out using the Classic Label punch. This was added to the stamped panel on Dimensionals.

I die cut the medium and small doilies using the same three colours and added one small and one medium doily to the stamped panel using Mini Glue Dots.

The Gray Granite butterfly was punched out using the Butterfly Duet punch and this was added to the stamped panel with a Mini Glue Dot. The panel was then added to a panel of Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo or So Saffron cardstock and a trio of Iridescent Sequins added to complete the card front.

I really liked the combination of Spring like colours. Ihope you like it.

Incredible You card - sneak peek

Incredible You Sneak Peek

Today I am sharing a sneak peek using one of the stamp sets I was given at the recent OnStage demonstrator event in Birmingham.

Making the Incredible You card

I started with a panel of Whisper White 4¼” by 2¾” and stamped the leafy stalk randomly in the lower right corner in 1st and 2nd generation Old Olive ink.  I added the other sprig of leaves in So Saffron ink.  The stalky image was added in Old Olive and the flowers in Real Red ink.

I then stamped the large flower twice onto scrap Whisper White cardstock. The outline was stamped in full strength, 1st generation Blackberry Bliss ink and the solid inner layer of the flower in 2nd generation or stamped of Blackberry Bliss ink. I cut out both flowers with my scissors and added them to the lower right corner, one with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the other on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set was added in Old Olive ink.

I added the stamped layer to a panel of Old Olive cardstock 4⅜” by 2⅞” and then to a panel of Blackberry Bliss cardstock 4⅝” by 3⅛”.

Taking a Thick Whisper White card base I stamped the group of lines from the stamp set in So Saffron ink across the upper right and lower left corners and added the stamped panel on Stampin’ Dimensonals.

Lift me up and Up & Away for OnStage Swaps

Lift Me Up – for OnStage Swaps

This is weekend I have been lucky enough to go to the twice yearly demonstrator only event called OnStage. It is such fun; we get to see the new Spring/Summer and Sale-a-Bration catalogues and to play with some new product. We also are treated to live demonstrations of new product and techniques and business tips. One of the best things about OnStage is the meeting up with hundreds of other demonstrators, sharing ideas and inspiration and SWAPPING. We love swapping; it is a great way to meet new people and come home with ideas and inspiration that can be shared with your team and customers.

OnStage Swaps

When we arrive at the venue we all walk around greeting old friends, saying hi to new people and swapping our makes with theirs. I chose to make card fronts as my swap this year and managed to put together 60 of them.

Lift me up and Up & Away for OnStage Swaps

www.crafty-rootes.com – Lift Me Up stamp set and Up and Away dies for OnStage Swaps

I started with a strip of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝”. I wanted to use bright summery colours for my swaps and chose Mango Melody and Lovely Lipstick and thought I would try a technique I had heard about.  Taking a E acrylic block I pressed the Mango Melody to the bottom and Lovely Lipstick to the top and added a drop of glycerine to each colour. Using Stampin’ Sponges I added the Mango Melody to the bottom and the Lovely Lipstick to the top blending in the middle to give a richer orange. The glycerine was fantastic, the colour blended so much more smoothly and easily than usual. I added the inked panel to a layer of Mango Melody cardstock measuring 5½” by 3¾” having rounded the upper left corner.

I stamped the medium and small hot air balloon from the Lift Me Up stamp set onto Lovely Lipstick, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel cardstock and die cut them using the Up & Away framelit dies. I also die cut a selection of clouds using the same die set.

I added 3 clouds to each card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I added a small hot air balloon with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and a large and small hot air balloon with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I decided not to put a sentiment on the card.

Lift me up and Up & Away for OnStage Swaps

After making about 30 of these card fronts I switched up the colours to a more masculine look. I used Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel to ink up the Whisper White panel and added these to a layer of either Granny Apple Green or Blueberry Bushel cardstock. The hot air balloons were stamped in the same colours.

I am really happy with these card fronts, I hope the ladies I swapped with like them.

Swaps for OnStage Telford April 2018

Bubble Over Swaps

I am so excited to be going to OnStage in Telford, UK tomorrow. Looking forward to spending time with my team, catching up with old friends and making new ones and of course SWAPPING!!!! Today I am sharing my swap.

I knew I wanted to use my new Stamparatus and the Bottles and Bubbles dies and Bubble Over stamp set to make my OnStage swaps so began with a scrap panel of Whisper White cardstock.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I started by making a template using a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cutting the large bottle in the middle of the panel using my Big Shot and the Bottles & Bubbles framelit dies. I then die cut a further 64 large bottles from scrap pieces of Whisper White cardstock and set them aside.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I positioned the negative bottle image template onto the Stamparatus on top of the foam panel and inserted the large bottle stamp into the negative space before closing the door to pick up the stamp.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I inserted the die cut bottles, one at a time into the negative space inking up the bottle stamp in Always Artichoke ink (perfect colour for a champagne bottle) and closing the panel to stamp onto the die cut bottle.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I absolutely love this technique and it was so much faster doing it this way. Love it! My Always Artichoke ink pad was quite dry and I don’t have the re-inker so I double stamped the first 3 -4 bottles but the more I stamped the more I liked the aged, vintage look the dry ink pad gave so decided not to double stamp the remaining bottles.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I die cut 65 of the large bottle labels from scrap Whisper White cardstock with the Bottles and Bubbles dies and die cut lots of stars using the Mini Treat Bag dies and scraps of Real Red cardstock. I added a star to the centre of each label with Tombow Liquid Adhesive then added the label with the same glue to the front of each bottle.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I cut 65 panels of Whisper White 4¾” by 3” and rounded the upper right hand corner with my Envelope Punch Board. I placed the panels onto the Stamparatus platform and laid the sentiment stamp from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set – love the font – onto the panel then picked it up with the right hand panel. I inked up the stamp with Real Red ink and stamped onto each panel in turn. Perfectly positioned!

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

Next, I laid a bottle into position on the stamped Whisper White panel and stamped the stars from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in Real Red ink, I repeated this step on the other panels. The Whisper White layers were then glued to panels of Real Red cardstock 5” by 3¼” also with the upper right hand corner rounded.

I added the die cut bottles on Stampin’ Dimensionals to the stamped panel before adding the whole topper to a Thick Whisper White card base. To finish off I added some Basic Rhinestones to each card.

Swaps from OnStage local

I have had the most fantastic time over the weekend with my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators at our twice yearly convention. This time I was lucky enough to be invited to CentreStage where Demonstrators who are Silver Elite and above are spoiled with a lovely meal, business training and lots of special treats. It was amazing to meet up with other demonstrators, share experiences and ideas and especially lovely that I was accompanied by my fantastic upline Mikaela Titheridge.

My upline and I at CentreStage

www.crafty-rootes.com – CentreStage Mikaela and 1

On Saturday 11 members of the team joined Mikaela and I for a full on day of crafting and business. One of the best things about the day is the swapping…….we love swapping. Many demos make card fronts or 3D projects to swap with each other. This means we come home with loads of ideas and inspiration and loads of samples to show at class often using stamp sets and dies we don’t have. Here are a couple of photos showing the swaps I received.
