A beautifil thank you card made using the ornate Garden designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

Ornate Garden

Today I am casing a card I made back in October. This time I am using the lovely Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper for a simple thank you card.

To recreate the Most Wonderful Time card, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Pear Pizzazz – 5¼” by 3½ “
Ornate Garden dsp -5” by 1” x 3”
Whisper White – 3” by 2½”
Scrap Whisper White

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, I glued the 3 strips of the Ornate Garden designer series paper (dsp) to the Pear Pizzazz panel. I always place the 2 side panels first, getting the border as even as possible. I can then add the centre strip making sure it is an equal distance from the other 2 strips. You also need to match up your pattern so don’t mix the up!

I wrapped a piece of Ornate Garden Ribbon around the panel and using the same liquid glue added the decorated panel to the Thick Whisper White card base.

I stamped the sentiment from the Arrange A Wreath stamp set in Terracotta Tile ink onto scrap Whisper White card.

The sentiment was die cut using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the lovely Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The sentiment was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the small flower from the Ornate Style stamp set onto scrap Whisper White card in Basic Gray ink and coloured it in using Calypso Coral and Old Olive Blends Markers. The image was fussy cut using sharp scissors and added to the sentiment with the liquid glue.

Naughty Zebra

Today I am sharing a cute card made using the Zany Zebras stamp set and featuring a naughty Zebra. You just have to look at his face to know he is up to no good……

To recreate the naughty zebra card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Ornate Garden designer series paper – 5¾” by 4”
Whisper White – 5” by 3⅜”

Using a sponge I inked the lower right corner of the Whisper White panel with Bumblebee ink.

The zebra was stamped onto the inked area in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. As the naughty zebra was looking behind him I stamped a party hat in Just Jade ink which had fallen off his head. I coloured the dots in with the Just Jade marker.

Hopping around the world fold over top gift bag using Ornate Garden dsp

Fold Over Top Gift Bag

Here is a sweet little fold over top gift bag made using the Ornate Garden Designer Series Paper (dsp). You can fit 2 Fererro Roche chocolates in the bag……..yum. This sweet little box is so easy to make and such a handy size. This was made for the Hopping Around the World blog hop where the theme is 3D. If you have hopped over from Rachel Macleod  I am sure you loved her project. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes in the UK.

To recreate the Fold Over Top Gift bag you will need:

Ornate Garden dsp – 8½” by 6”
Scrap Whisper White

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge

I began by using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the Ornate Garden dsp. The long side was scored at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8” and the short side at 1¾” & 5”.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – Ornate Garden dsp used for a fold over top gift bag for a blog hop challenge

Using Scissors I cut off the top and bottom small rectangles leaving the central tab. Then I cut up each of the 1¾” rectangles to form tabs for the bottom of the box. The 1” strip of dsp was trimmed off except the last rectangle next to the narrow tab.

The score lines were then folded and burnished. Tear and Tape was then added to the thin side tab and the box was closed. I folded three of the bottom tabs in and added Tear and Tape to the fourth before folding it down and sealing the bottom closed.

The back and front of the bag were then pinched together and the 1” strip folded over to form the closure.

I wrapped the lovely Old Olive Ribbon around the bag and tied a bow towards the top, this will hold the bag closed.
