Medallion Emboss Resist for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using the emboss resist technique. I have chosen to use  the Pretty Medallion stamp set to make my card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the medallion card, you will need:

Polished Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5⅝” by 3¾”
Daffodil Delight card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Basic Black card – 3” by ¼”

I mounted the large Pretty Medallion stamp onto the plate of the Stamparatus, inked it up with Versamark ink. I stamped it down onto the smaller panel of Basic White card. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with a Heat Tool.

Using Sponge Daubers, I added ink starting in the centre of the image. I began with Polished Pink, the Sweet Sorbet. Next was Calypso Coral and finally Daffodil Delight.

Using one of the Basic Borders Dies I cut the pattern into the bottom of the Daffodil Delight panel and then glued the inked panel onto the yellow piece. The Basic Black layer was added to the back of both panels.

A length of Black and white Gingham Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape. The whole piece was mounted onto the Polished Pink card base on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Sending Support stamp set in Versamark ink onto the strip of Basic Black card, covered it with White Embossing powder and heat set it. I trimmed it down and added it to the card front.

Pretty Medallion card

I have been playing with the beautiful Pretty Medallion stamp today and have used some soft pastel shades to colour in the image.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the pretty medallion card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Fresh Freesia card – 4⅞” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 12.3cms by 9cms
Basic White card – 4” by 1¾”
Fresh Freesia card – 4” by ¼”
Basic White – 5⅞” by ¾”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I mounted the Pretty Medallion stamp onto a Stamparatus Plate, inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it onto the 12.3cms by 9cms panel of Basic White card. I actually re-inked and stamped 3 times to get a nice rich black. I repeated this with the 5⅞” by ¾” strip of Basic White.

The image was coloured with the following Blends Pens – Pool Party, Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink and So Saffron. I used the same colours to colour the stamped strip.

Using a trimmer, I cut the coloured panel from top to bottom into 3 panels each 3cms wide. These were then glued to the Fresh Freesia layer and added this to the Pool Party card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Charming Sentiments stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the small strip of Basic White card. I cut it down using scissors and added the thin strip of Fresh Freesia card along the bottom. This was then tucked under the decorated panel.
