Colour Combo Blog Hop - masculine card made using the Handsomely Suited stamp set and Suit & Ties Dies

Trio of Ties

Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp n’ Hop Blog Hop where this month we have a colour challenge. The colours are Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow and my first thoughts were great colours for a trio of ties masculine card. With this in mind I have chosen to use the Handsomely Suited stamp set.

The Colour Combo used on this project:

To recreate the Trio of Ties card, you will need:

Crumb Cake card Base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Dandy Garden dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Mossy Meadow – 4¼” by 3”
Basic White – 4⅛” by 2⅞”
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside
Scrap Basic White

I glued the Dandy Garden dsp to the larger panel of Basic White card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Using some of the White Twine from the Snail Mail Twine pack to wrap around the panel, adhering it on the reverse with Sellotape. I used the liquid glue to adhere the panel to the Crumb Cake card base.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the ties onto the smallest panel to Basic White. I used the following Blends Markers to colour in the ties – Misty Moonlight, Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow.

The stamped layer was then added with liquid glue to the Mossy Meadow layer. The whole panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I placed the Many Messages stamp into the Stamparatus, inked it up in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped down onto a panel of Basic White. I used the Messages Die and the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to cut out the sentiments. I keep the spare sentiments in a stamp case.

The In The Pines stamp set used to make an Christmas card for the Hopping Around the World blog hop

Holiday Mini Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me today for the Stamp ‘n Hop blog hop where our theme this month is ‘Holiday Mini’. I love this time of year with Autumn and Christmas…… so many lovely things to chose from. If you have hopped on from the lovely Sandra Hertzog, I am sure you loved her project. You are now with Mo Rootes in the UK.

I have chosen to use the In the Pines stamp set to make a fairly simple card.

To recreate the Holiday Mini card you will need:

Pool Party card base – – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Early Espresso – 5 ¼” by 3 ½”
Whisper White – 5” by 3 ¼”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Scrap Early Espresso

I placed the smaller panel of Whisper White in the Stamparatus, upper right corner and set up the outline of the large pine tree on one of the panels. I stamped the image with the Early Espresso ink on the left, moved along one step and stamped again without re-inking. I inked again with the same ink and repeated both steps to give 4 trees.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – In The Pines stamp set used for the Holiday Mini Hopping Around the World blog hop

I lined up the inner tree image on top of the 1st stamped tree and picked it up with the back of the plate. I inked it up with Shaded Spruce ink and stamped it onto the first tree then moved along one hinge step to stamp the second tree and repeated the process.

Using a sponge I added Pool Party ink around the tree to give a ‘sky’  and stamped the ground beneath each tree  and the tree trunks in Early Espresso ink. The stamped layer was added to the Early Espresso layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

A floral birthday card using the Beautiful Bouquet and Perennial Birthday stamp sets by Stampin' Up!

Goodbye to the 2019 – 2020 catalogue

Hello and welcome to the May Stamp ‘N Hop blog hop where our theme is ‘Goodbye to the 2019 – 2020 Catalogue’.  If you have joined me from the lovely Libby Dyson, I am sure you loved her project.

There are so many lovely things which are retiring that I was spoilt for choice. In fact everything I have used will be retiring from the catalogue with the exception of the Whisper White card stock!

To recreate the Goodbye to the 2019 – 2020 Catalogue card you will need:

Grapefruit Grove card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Blueberry Bushel – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner – one for the inside
Blueberry Bushel – 5” by 1⅛”
Whisper White – 5” by 1”

I began by stamping the sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in Lovely Lipstick ink. I love the size and the font of this Happy Birthday, I will miss it. I placed the stamped sentiment strip at an angle onto one of the larger Whisper White panels and lightly drew down each side in pencil to give me a guide to where I should stamp my flowers.

I removed the sentiment piece and glued it to the thin strip of Blueberry Bushel card using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and set it to one side.

With this type of masked card I also start by stamping the largest images and working may way down to the smallest images which I use to fill in. I used the 5 retiring 2018 – 2020 In Colors to stamp my images – they were stamped in this order Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover and Blueberry Bushel. I used the gorgeous Beautiful Bouquet set for this part of the card. I am so going to miss this set, love all the flowers and the huge number of great sentiments.

CASE from Pinterest

Welcome to the April Stamp ‘N Hop Blog Hop where our theme is ‘CASE from Pinterest’. If you have joined me from Annette welcome, I am sure you enjoyed her lovely project.

I have chosen to CASE (copy and selectively edit) a card made by the very talented Su Mohr using the Poppy Moments dies. I hope you and she like it.

To recreate the CASE from Pinterest card you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Flirty Flamingo – 5½” by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 3
Scrap Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam & Soft Suede

I began by taking the ‘smudge’ stamp, inking it up with Flirty Flamingo ink and stamping it randomly across one of the Whisper White panels. This step was repeated using So Saffron ink and Petal Pink ink until the whole layer was covered in ink.

A beautiful poppy themed card made using Stampin' Up! products

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A pretty multicoloured poppy card made using the Peaceful Poppies and Poppy Moments dies

Using the Poppy Moments dies I die cut the detailed flower from the stamped panel. I die cut the same image and the full blank flower from Whisper White card stock. I mounted the White die cut flower outline onto the White flower blank with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and carefully fitted in the inked die cut pieces. Doesn’t the flower look fab……..I love  bit of paper piecing.

A Peter Rabbit Easter card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop challenge

Fable Friends Easter Stamp ‘n Hop

Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamp ‘n hop Blog Hop where the theme is Easter. If you have joined me from the lovely Sandra then welcome, my name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. I hope you enjoy my project.

Making the Easter card

I started by taking a piece of Window Sheet about 5 ½” by 3 ¾” and ran it through the Big Shot with the large die from the Doily Builder Die set.  This effectively created a stencil for me to use to make the background of the card.

A Peter Rabbit Easter card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop challenge

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Easter Challenge using Fable Friends

I laid the stencil onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 5⅛” by 3⅜” and holding it firmly in place I inked it up using So Saffron, Flirty Flamingo and Grapefruit Grove inks applied using  Sponge Daubers. I rounded the upper right corner using the Detailed Trio Punch and added the inked piece to a panel of So Saffron cardstock with the same corner rounded using Multipurpose liquid Adhesive.

A Peter Rabbit Easter card for the Stamp 'n Hop blog hop challenge

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Easter Challenge using Fable Friends

I then stamped the cute little Peter Rabbit image in Gray Granite ink onto a scrap piece of Watercolor Paper and die cut it out using the Stitched Shapes framelits and my Big Shot. I used Crumb Cake, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo inks and an Aqua Painter to paint the rabbit.

www.crafty-rootes.com – Stamp ‘n Hop Easter Challenge using Fable Friends

I used the Layering Oval dies to cut a scalloped oval and added it to the back of the stamped piece using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a length of Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon around the inked panel and secured it on the back with Sellotape.

The oval topper piece was added to the panel, over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals and a bow of the same ribbon added with a Mini Glue Dot. The sentiment was added to the card front with Flirty Flamingo ink. The whole panel was then added to a Crumb Cake card base with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I finished off by adding a trio of Share What You love Artisan Pearls.

I used the stencil and inks in the same way to decorate a piece of Whisper White measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” and adhered it to the inside of the card. I used the same technique to colour the front of the envelope.

Such a pretty card, I hope you like it. Please hop on the see what Jenna has to share with us.
