A sweet card for a baby girl made using the Little Elephant stamp set and Elephant Builder Punch by Stampin' Up!

Little Elephant Baby card for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the August Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop. This month we are focusing on Babies and Children and I have such a sweet card to share with you. I made this for friends who have recently had a sweet baby girl who they have named Phoebe. I chose to use the Little Elephant stamp set and the co-ordinating Elephant Builder Punch to make my card.

To recreate the Little Elephant card you will need;

Smokey Slate card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Rococo Rose 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2
Smoky Slate 4 ¼” by 3”
Whisper White 4 ¼” by 3”
Scrap Rococo Rose and Whisper White

I really wanted to use the gorgeous Stitched lace die on this card. I die cut it from one of the Whisper White cardstock panels and used the new die brush attachment for the Take Your Pick Tool to get all the little pieces out. I added this large die cut piece to the Rococo Rose panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I placed the die cut piece face down on my silicone mat and applied the glue with a piece of sponge.

I stamped the sweet little elephants on scrap Whisper White in Rococo Rose ink, the full strength ink was too dark so I stamped off first to get a lighter shade. I stamped the elephants again in Smoky Slate ink and punched out the 2 pink ones and the ears from the grey ones using the Elephant Builder Punch. I added the ears to each elephant on a dimensional.

I die cut a stitched oval from the small Whisper White layer using the Stitched Shapes dies. I inked up the strip of plaid image from the same stamp set using Smoky Slate ink, stamped off twice then stamped onto the bottom of the die cut oval. I added leaves from the Dino Days stamp set in 1st and 2nd generation Smoky Slate ink.

Ifter scoring the square piece of Whisper White cardstock I cut up the 4 corner squares to form tabs and adhered the tabs with Tear and Tape to form the base of the bag. Normally I would adhere the tabs to the outside of the base as they are then hidden when you wrap the side panel around the base but this time I forgot………… !

I stamped the sweet flowers form the Grandma’s House stamp set in a row all across the bottom of the large panel of Whisper White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I coloured in the flowers using the following Blends Markers –  Lovely Lipstick combo, Granny Apple Green combo, Call Me Clover combo, So Saffron combo & Soft Flirty Flamingo combo

I added Tear and Tape to the back of the stamped layer, along the bottom and down one side. I removed the protective cover from the bottom piece of tape and starting from the middle of one side slowly wrapped the panel around the base.

The protective cover was then removed from Tear and Tape up the side and the 2 edges pressed together. They bow out slightly which is normal.

Pinching the top together in the centre I punched 2 holes using my ⅛” hand held circle punch, sadly retired. I fed through some Lovely Lipstick ⅛” Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a bow.

For the tag I masked off 2 of the flowers with a postit note and stamped the remaining flower in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the flower with the same Blends Markers and added the sentiment from the Above the Clouds stamp set in the same ink. This was then punched out with the Pretty Label Punch.

The tag was added to the bag with some White Baker’s Twine. Such a pretty little gift bag. I hope you like it.

The Baby Wipe Technique used with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Baby Wipe Technique for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Stampers Showcase blog hop where our theme this month is Spring/Floral. If you have joined me from Mikaela‘s blog then welcome. I have chosen to use the Baby Wipe Technique with the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and some bright, rich colours.

To recreate the Beautiful Promenade card you will need;

Poppy Parade card base 8 ¼” by 5⅞” – scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Gorgeous Grape cardstock 5½” by 3 ¾”
Very Vanilla cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Vellum 6” by 1½”
Scrap Gorgeous Grape cardstock for die-cutting
C6 Very Vanilla Envelope

I have hardly used this gorgeous stamp set, I am so glad it is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue. I wanted to try out the baby wipe technique and thought this set might work well with the technique.

I began by folding a single baby wipe into a square and placing it in an empty clear mount stamp case. I took the Daffodil Delight re-inker and dropped about 12 – 15 drops randomly onto the baby wipe. I repeated this with the Poppy Parade re-inker and finally with Gorgeous Grape re-inker. The dots of ink should spread and merge together with no un-inked areas

I inked the outline flower stamp on my hand made ink pad and randomly stamped the image onto the Very Vanilla panel. I loved the effect of the multicolour flowers. The stamped layer was then added to the Gorgeous Grape panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I wrapped the strip of Vellum around the stamped panel and adhered it on the back with Sellotape. The whole piece was then glued to the Poppy Parade card front.

I die cut the word ‘birthday’ 3 times from scrap Gorgeous Grape cardstock and adhered the words one on top of the other using Multipurpose liquid Adhesive, this gives great dimension to the word.

I swiped the  Embossing Buddy over the vellum then stamped the word ‘wishes’ in Poppy Parade ink covered it with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool. The die cut ‘birthday’ was added on top with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used a Mini Glue Dot tucked under the ‘birthday’ to hold the vellum layer down.

I love, love this card, hoping you like it as well.
