A thank you card made using strips of Design A Daydream dsp and the Meadow Dies by Stampin' Up! for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop!

Striped Floral card for the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing projects using strips of cardstock and/or dsp. I have made a striped floral card using the Meadow Dies and the gorgeous Design A Daydream dsp.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the striped floral card, you will need:

Blushing Bride card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 4½” by 3 “
Window Sheet – 4½” by 3”
Design A Daydream dsp – strips ¼”, ⅜” or ½” wide
Basic White card – 5½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic Black card

I used Seal + to glue my strips of Design A Daydream dsp, diagonally down the panel of Window Sheet leaving a small gap between each piece.

The small panel of Basic White was adhered to the centre of the Blushing Bride card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the Window Sheet panel added over top on Dimensionals carefully placed under the dsp strips so they would not be seen.

Using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Meadow Dies, I die cut one of the flowers from scrap Basic Black card and added it to the striped layer with liquid glue.

The Wisteria Wishes stap set and Sun Prints Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! used to make a pretty note of thanks card

Striped Wisteria card for the Ink. Stamp. Share. Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on recently. I am currently putting together a class featuring the Wisteria Wishes stamp set and, in addition to the 3 cards we will make in class I try to have other examples made using the set to demonstrate versatility. Today I am sharing one of my extra cards which I have called striped wisteria.

The colours used in this project are:

To recreate the striped wisteria card, you will need:

Orchid Oasis card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5⅝” by 3⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Sun Prints dsp – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5” by 3½”
Garden Green card – 1½” by ¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Scrap Basic White strip

I began by die cutting a scalloped rectangle using the Scalloped Contour Dies.

The leafy branch was stamped in Garden Green ink towards the top of the scalloped rectangle and I added the trio of wisteria flowers using Orchid Oasis ink.

Okay, time for a confession, this was going to be a portrait card but………… I cut the striped dsp going in the wrong direction! Don’t you just hate it when you do something like that, so rather than just waste the dsp I turned the card around and transformed it into a landscape card. The dsp panel was glued to the larger Basic White layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the Orchid Oasis card front using the same glue.

Using my Paper Trimmer, I trimmed off the top and bottom of my decorated scalloped rectangle and added it to the card front on Dimensionals. I actually quite liked how it looked.

The sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set was stamped in Garden Green ink onto the strip of scrap Basic White card and then die cut using the Sending Dies. I tucked the strip of Garden Green card under the stamped panel and added the sentiment over the top.

Using a Mossy Meadow Blends Pen I coloured in a trio of Basic Rhinestones and added them to complete the card.

I hop you like it.

Please continue around the hop to share lots of inspiration.

A lovely card made using only dsp and a sentiment

Happiness Blooms dsp

Here is a cute card made using only the Happiness Blooms dsp and a sentiment stamp. I am trying to use more of our lovely designer series paper (dsp) this year and not to just hoard it.

Making the card

You will need;
Poppy Parade card base
Night of Navy – 5½” by 3¾”
Happiness Blooms dsp – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Night of Navy – 5½” by ½”
Poppy Parade – 3¾” by 2⅞”
Happiness Blooms dsp – 3¼” by 2¾”
Scraps of Whisper White, Pineapple Punch and Poppy Parade
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside

A lovely card made using only dsp and a sentiment

www.crafty-rootes.com – the Happiness Blooms designer series paper used for a simple card

I started by selecting the 2 co-ordinating pieces of dsp and cutting them to size using my Paper trimmer. I matted the larger striped panel of dsp onto the larger layer of Night of Navy cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This layer was then added to a Poppy Parade card base with the same adhesive.

I added a strip if Night of Navy cardstock onto the striped panel.

I rounded the upper right corner of the second panel of dsp using the Detailed Trio Punch and added it to the Poppy Parade panel, also with a rounded upper right corner. This piece was added at an anle to the card front on Dimensionals.

A lovely card made using only dsp and a sentiment

The sentiment from the Floral Frames stamp set was stamped onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and die cut using the Big Shot and the Layering Circle dies. The stamped circle was added to a slightly larger scalloped circle cut using the same dies. These were adhered together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the card front with the same glue.

A lovely card made using only dsp and a sentiment

www.crafty-rootes.com – the Happiness Blooms designer series paper used for a simple card

I punched a small butterfly from Pineapple Punch cardstock using the Butterfly Duet Punch. I completed the card by adding a trio of Happiness Blooms enamel dots.

I added a scrap strip of dsp to the inside panel of Whisper White cardstock and the same to a Whisper White envelope.

I really, really like this card. Let me know what you think.
