Split Image Blossom card

Today I am sharing a couple of split image blossom cards made using the fabulous Blossoms in Bloom stamp set and Many Layered Blossom dies. Over the past couple of moths I have seen a number of demonstrators making split image cards and thought I would try it myself.

To recreate the Split Image Blossom card you will need:

Merry Merlot card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Calypso Coral – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner – one for the inside
Calypso Coral – 5½” by 5½” – to die cut for both cards

2nd card

Calypso Coral – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Merry Merlot – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner – one for the inside

I laid 2 of the Whisper White panels side by side, inked up the large floral image from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set with Merry Merlot ink and stamped the image across the join of both panels.

The most detailed large floral image was die cut using the Many Layered Blooms dies.

I squeezed some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive onto the corner of my Silicon Mat and dabbed it all over the back of the die cut piece and placed it over the stamped area which were still side by side.

When the adhesive was dry I used my Paper Trimmer to cut the 2 layers apart.

The stamped and die cut panels were added to either a Calypso Coral or a Merry Merlot layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then to the opposite colour card base.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped on both card fronts in Merry Merlot ink and the cards were completed with a trio of Holiday Rhinestones.

A lovely jewel toned thank you card made using the Just Because stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Thank you – Just Because

Today I am sharing a sweet thank you card made using the Just Because stamp set. There are so many pretty images in this set, perfect for the beginner crafter.

Making the Just Because thank you card

You will need
Rich Razzelberry card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝” – for the inside
Mint Macaron cardstock 3½” by 3½”
Whisper White cardstock 3¼” by 3¼”
Whisper White cardstock ⅜” strip for sentiment
Mint Macaron cardstock 5” by ⅜”
DSP – I used the Share What You Love pack
4⅛” by 4” cut on the diagonal
5⅞” by⅜”

I began by using my trimmer to cut a ¼” strip off the card front. I then chose the dsp for the front of the card and for the strip along the cut card front edge and cut these to size.

I adhered the diagonally cut piece of dsp to the thin Mint Macaron strip with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive then added the piece to the Rich Razzelberry card front using the same adhesive.

I stamped the sweet vase of leaves in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the smaller Whisper White panel and die cut it out using my Big Shot and the Stitched Shapes dies. I also die cut a slightly larger scalloped circle using the Layering Circle dies and the piece of Mint Macaron cardstock. I glued the 2 layers together with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. They were then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Mint Macaron ink and then cut down to size using my scissors before adding it with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I still felt the card needed a little something extra so stamped the leaves in the upper left corner.

I used the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to add the inside Whisper White panel and used an off cut of the dsp to decorate the envelope. To finish I added a trio of Faceted Dots to the front of the card.

I hope you like it.

Just Because

Today I am sharing a sweet thank you card made using the hostess stamp set – Just Because. This is such a pretty set of vases and pots of flowers which will be useful for many occasions. Many of the images have sentiments attached and I have cut the sentiments away from the main image using a sharp pair of scissors so that I can use the images with many different sentiments.

Making the Thank you card

You will need;
Old Olive card base
Cajun Craze – 3½” by 2⅜”
Whisper White – 3½” by 2⅜”
⅛” strips of Whisper White and Calypso Coral
Scrap Whisper White and Calypso Coral

I started by die cutting a rectangle using the Big Shot and the Rectangle Stitched dies from the piece of Whisper White cardstock.

I punched the flowers out from scrap Calypso Coral cardstock using one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Blooms Punch Pack. Using the dark Old Olive Blends Pen I coloured in 3 of the Glitter Enamel Dots and added them to the flower centres. The flowers were added to the plant with Mini Glue Dots.
