A thinking of you card made using the Beauty of Friendship bundle and the bark embossing folder

Autumnal Trees

I love the Beautiful Trees Dies and Beauty of Friendship stamp set and have used it today to make an autumnal tree  ‘thinking of you card’.

Colours in this project are:

To recreate the Autumnal tree card, you will need:

Balmy Blue card base 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Balmy Blue card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾”
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside
Soft Suede card – 4½” by 3½”
Beauty of the Earth dsp – 3½” by 3¼”
Basic White strip – ⅜”

I ran the Balmy Blue panel through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Bark Embossing Folder to add texture to the panel. The piece was added to the Balmy Blue card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The tree trunk and branches were die cut using the Beautiful Trees Dies and my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine from the piece of Soft Suede card. It was added to the card base using the liquid glue.

I die cut the canopy of the tree from a piece of Beauty of the Earth dsp using the same dies. Aren’t the colours gorgeous. I add the die cut canopy using Mini Dimensionals.

Sitting Pretty for a simple thinking of you card

Today I have been making a simple thinking of you card using the Sitting Pretty stamp set and my Stamparatus.

Ink to Block Technique

I began by taking a large acrylic block, size E. I added Granny Apple Green ink  by pressing the ink pad directly to the top of the block. I added Balmy Blue ink to the bottom of the block then spritzed the block using a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water: I find 3 – 4 sprays works best. You need the ink to be moving and blending on the block. Turn the block over and place it down on the Thick Whisper White card front and leave for a couple of minutes for the ink to be absorbed onto the card. Lift the block off and dab up any excess water. Set aside to dry.

When the card base was dry I placed it into the Stamparatus and held it in position with a magnet. I inked up the gorgeous decorative bench from the Sitting Pretty stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it down. I repeated this twice more to get a really dark image.

I added the sentiment form the Sitting Here stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black ink and added some Faceted Dots to finish the card.

Such a simple but effective card and I love the fact that every time you try this background technique you get a different look. Love it! I really hope you like it.
