Rocking Horse Christmas card for the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing projects made using product from the new mini catalogue. I have chosen to use the Rocking Horse stamp set and dies to make a simple ‘rocking’ card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the rocking horse card, you will need:

Pretty Peacock card – 5½” by 5½”
Oxidised Copper speciality paper – 5” by 5”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 4¼” x 2
Scrap Basic White card

Using the largest Deckled Circle Die, I cut a circle from the piece of Pretty Peacock card. I placed it in the corner of the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and scored it down the centre at 2½”. Fold and burnish on the scoreline.

I skipped the next deckled circle and die cut a white circle from the next size down, using a Blending Brush, I added Lost Lagoon ink to the centre of the white deckled circle and using a Sponge Dauber, I added Pretty Peacock around the edge. The circle was then glued to the oxidised copper paper.

The sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto the white circle. I love that the photopolymer stamps can be bent and curved.

The rocking horse was stamped in Versamark ink onto scrap Basic White card. I covered it with Copper Embossing Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool.

The horse was coloured using the light and dark Smoky Slate Blends. I coloured the harness, saddle and saddle blanket with Wild Wheat and Pretty Peacock Blends Pens. The rocker was coloured in using the Copper Clay Blends Pens. I die cut the image using the Rocking Horse Dies. I added it to the white circle on Dimensionals.
