A paper pieced card made for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop using the Flowers Fair stamp set used with the Kintsugi Inspiration designer series paper from Stampin' Up!

Paper Pieced Flowers – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are showcasing the paper piecing technique. This is one of my favourite techniques which is odd as I am not a big fan of fussy cutting, but it is so effective. I have used the Flowers Fair stamp set and the Kintsugi Inspirations dsp to make my card.

Colours used to make this card are:

I created the Paper Pieced Flowers card using the following supplies:

Petal Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Secret Sea – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 5¼“by 3½”
Secret Sea – 2⅜” by ⅜
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Kintsugi Inspirations dsp

I mounted the large Flowers Fair stamp onto the plate of the Stampin’ Positioner, inked it up with Secret Sea ink and stamped it onto the 5¼“by 3½” panel of Basic White card. I also stamped the image onto the Stampin’ Positioner gird paper.

I used the Soft Sea Foam Blends Pens to colour in all the leaves.

I selected the two patterns of Kintsugi Inspirations designer series paper from my scraps. Taking one Cloud Cover pattern I cut it into smaller pieces, placed them over the relevant flowers, inked up the stamp and stamped down onto the scraps. The flowers were then fussy cut.

I repeated this step with the Petal Pink dsp and the smaller flowers and fussy cut them out.

The fussy cut flowers were then placed over the identical flowers on the stamped panel. I lifted some of the larger ones on Dimensionals, the rest were glued into position. The smaller flowers were then added with Liquid Adhesive.

I used the Light Secret Sea Blends Pen to colour in the centres of the smaller petal pink flowers before the whole panel was adhered to the Secret Sea panel and then to the Petal Pink card base.

Floral Card

Here is a pretty card made using the gorgeous Artisan Sketched Garden designer series paper (dsp) and the Lovely Stripes Embossing Folder.

Colours used to make this card are:

I created the Floral card using the following supplies:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Basic Black – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Hydrangea Hue- 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White – 5⅛” by 3½”
Basic White – 4½” by 2¼”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I used the Lovely Stripes Embossing Folder to emboss the 5⅛” by 3½” panel of Basic White card. I wrapped a piece of Black Baker’s Twine around the layer before adding it to the Hydrangea Hue panel, then the Basic Black panel. Finally, the whole piece was glued to the Flirty Flamingo card base.

Using sharp scissors, I fussy cut the group of flowers from one of the sheets from the pack of Artisan Sketched Garden dsp.

The larger flowers were coloured using the Flirty Flamingo Blends Pens and the smaller flowers with Hydrangea Hue Blends Pens, one of the new in colors which will be available in my online shop from the 5th May.

I cut a label from the 4½” by 2¼” piece of Basic White card using the Nested Essentials Dies. The sentiment, from the Lovely Arrangements stamp set was stamped on the label in Hydrangea Hue ink. The label was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.
