Love For You card – Crafty-Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we have a colour challenge to work with. I have used the Love For You stamp set which will be retiring at the end of April.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Love For You card,  you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper left corner
Garden Green card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded upper left corner
Flirty Flaming card – 2¾” by 2¾”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper left corner – for the inside

I began by die cutting a circle from the square of Flirty Flamingo card using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I placed the die cut circle onto the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card, slightly overhanging the right edge. I drew around it with a pencil.

4 Christmas cards made using the one-sheet wonder technique and the Leaves of Holly stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Holly One-Sheet Wonder for September Classes

We had such fun in classes over the last couple of weeks using the Leaves of Holly stamp set to create a holly one sheet wonder and then cut the sheet apart to create four simple cards.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the holly one sheet wonder cards, you will need:

1 sheet of A4 sheet of Basic White card – to stamp on
4 Card bases – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
4 Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Basic White strip ¾” wide

Creating the one sheet wonder:

We stamped the larger detailed holly leaf using Evening Evergreen ink and added the solid leafy image overtop using Soft Succulent ink. The smaller holly leaf was stamped in the same way using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Smoky Slate ink.

The outline berries were stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink and the in-fill colour added using Polished Pink ink. We added the dotage image from the Painted Poppies stamp set in Soft Sea Foam ink. Finally, we stamped the trio of snowflakes, randomly in Orchid Oasis ink.

Using a Paper Trimmer, we then cut the A4 sheet into 4 equal pieces by cutting it at 5⅞” on the long side and 4⅛” on the short side.

The ladies then chose 4 card bases form the co-ordinating colours – Soft Sea Foam, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Polished Pink, Sweet Sorbet & Orchid Oasis.

Once they had chosen the card bases, they wanted to use, the ladies decided which panels to use for a portrait card and which as a landscape card. They also decided whether to leave the panels whole and plain or to emboss them.

Some chose to cut them into strips 1¼” wide, or from corner to corner diagonally. I cut layers of a co-ordinating card to mount the strips onto.

The sentiments were then stamped, either directly onto the panel or onto ¾” strips of Basic White card and trimmed them down before adding them to the card fronts.
