Tree In Autumn Card – Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are sharing Autumn themed projects. I have made my card using the Loveliest Tree stamp set and a shredded paper technique.

Colours used to make this card are:

 

To recreate the tree in Autumn card, you will need:

Basic Beige card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Early Espresso card – 4⅛” by 3⅛”
Basic White card – 4” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Strips of Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green & Pecan Pie – 1” by ⅜” – one of each colour
Scrap Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green & Pecan Pie

 

I stamped the tree in Early Espresso on the small panel of Basic White card. I added a base colour to the tree canopy using a dark Old Olive Blends Pen.

Using Scissors I roughed up the side of scraps of Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Pecan Pie card until I had a pile of fluff.

I covered the canopy of the tree with a light coating of Multipurpose liquid Adhesive and patted the ‘fluff’ onto the sticky area and set it aside to dry.

Colour was then added to the sky and the ground using Blending Brushes and Blueberry Bushel and Granny Apple Green ink. To give more texture to ground I stamped the ‘water’ image from the Scenic Adventure stamp set using second generation Granny Apple Green ink. The whole panel was then glued to the Early Espresso panel which was then added to the Basic Beige card front.

The trio of ⅜” strips were tucked in under the raised panel and the sentiment, from the Beautiful Motifs stamp set was then stamped with Early Espresso ink.

A trio of Transparent Adhesive-backed dots from my stash finished the card.

Fault Line Card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects featuring tearing techniques. I have seen lots of ‘fault line’ cards and thought I would give it a try using the Perennial Lavender dsp.

Colours used in this card are:

 

To recreate the fault line card, you will need:

Gorgeous Grape card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Shaded Spruce card – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 4” by 3⅝”
Perennial Lavender dsp – 4” by 3⅝” x 2 – one patterned and the other plainer
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Shaded Spruce card

 

I began by taking the plainer piece of designer series paper (dsp) and tore it at an angle from side to side. The larger of the 2 pieces was the torn again from side to side. I wanted the white core of the patterned paper to show on both pieces hence having to tear it twice. These pieces were then glued to the top and bottom of the patterned piece dsp leaving a wide strip of the pattern visible. The overhanging dsp was then trimmed off.

This step was repeated with the 4” by 3⅝” panel of Basic White card. This time I lined up the dsp on my Grid Paper and the torn panels adhered to the top and bottom until the whole piece measured 5⅜”.

Using Gorgeous Grape ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Hugs & Healing stamp set in the lower right corner and adhered the whole piece to the Shaded Spruce layer. This was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

From scrap Shaded Spruce card I die cut 2 flower stems using the Painted Lavender Dies. These were then glued to the card front.

The flower heads were then stamped onto scrap Basic White card, the base layer in Highland Heather and the detailed layer in Gorgeous Grape ink, These were then die cut using the same set of dies and added to the stems on the card front.
