Mountain View Card

Here is a pretty card inspired by Lorraine Tierney  using the gorgeous Scenic Adventures stamp set and dies.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the mountain view card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Smoky Slate card – 4½” by 2¼”
Secret Sea card – 3½” by 2”
Shaded Spruce card – 4½” by 1½”
Basic White card – 3¼” by 1¼”

Using the Everyday Arches dies, I die cut an arch from the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card. I set the die cut arch to one side to use in another project. The remaining negative panel was placed in the centre of the Thick Basic card front. Using a pencil, I marked the position of all 4 corners. This will guide me when I start stamping.

The clouds were stamped in Cloud Cover ink from one side of the card front to the other below the pencil lines. I continued adding clouds until I had covered ½ the card.

I die cut the following pieces using the Scenic Adventures Dies – the mountain from the Smoky Slate and Secret Sea panels. The shrubby banks from the piece of Shaded Spruce card and the flowers from the strip of Basic White card.

Using a Sponge Dauber, I added smoky Slate ink to the Smoky Slate mountain and adhered the Secret Sea mountain behind, trimming off the bits that stick out. The shrubby layer was then glued in front of the mountain.

The ‘water’ image was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink from one side of the card front to the other above the pencil lines. I needed to stamp about 3 lines of water. The die cut piece was then glued above the stamped water to the card front.

I used the dark Granny Apple Green Blends Pen to colour in the leaves and stems of the flowers. The flowers were then coloured using the light Poppy Parade Blends Pen. The flowers were then adhered to the card front.

The negative arch was then added to the front of the card on Dimensionals to frame the scene.

A trio of Iridescent Pearls completed the card.

    • Hi Kathy, the cloud image is in the Scenic Adventure stamp set and the water was stamped using the thin dotty image, also in the same stamp set, multiple times.
