CAS Colours & Sketches #305 Challenge using the Home to Roost Sale-a-Bration stamp set

Home to Roost for the CAS Colours & Sketches #305

I love a good sketch challenge, don’t you, they really push me out of my comfort zone and make me look at my crafty stash in new ways. Today, I am playing along with the CAS Colours and Sketches #304 challenge. This sketch looks deceptively simple but I found it really hard to create something I liked.

Making the card

I quickly decided that the cute chicken from the Home to Roost stamp set was the image I wanted to use for this sketch. I chose 2 patterns from the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper stack (dsp) as the rustic look of these papers goes so well with this stamp set. I cut one piece of dsp 3” by 3” and the second piece at 2 ½” by 2 ½” and added them to the front of a Thick Very Vanilla card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Early Espresso onto a ⅜” strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and added it to the card front.

I wondered if I should add some bling to the card but I really don’t feel it needs so decided that less is more and left it alone…….so hard to do…..

Christmas card using Beautiful Bauble stamp set

Beautiful Bauble Christmas card

Last week I was asked to do a demonstration for the local village women’s group and this is the card I shared made using the Beautiful Bauble stamp set.

Beautiful Bauble card

I began by taking a panel of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3¾” by 3¾”. I ran my Embossing Buddy over the Whisper White panel to remove the static and oils from the cardstock. I inked up the large detailed bauble with Versamark ink and stamped it down onto the Whisper White panel. Then I covered the panel in Copper Embossing Powder, flicking off the excess powder before melting it with my Heat Tool.
