Garden Wishes for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Colour Combo Blog Hop April 2021

Hello and welcome to the Colour Combo Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from ….’s blog I bet you loved her project. You are currently visiting Mo Rootes from near Cambridge in the UK.

The colours for this month’s challenge are:

To recreate the Garden Wishes card, you will need:

Old Olive card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Cherry Cobbler – 5” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corner
Very Vanilla – 4¾” by 3” – rounded upper left corner
Very Vanilla – 5½” by 3½” – rounded upper left corner
Scrap Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler

To begin I stamped the dandelion image from the Garden Wishes stamp set in Old Olive ink and used Old Olive and So Saffron Blends Markers to colour the image in.

The sentiment from the Garden Wishes stamp set was stamped in Old Olive ink onto scrap Very Vanilla, trimmed out with sharp scissors. I mounted it on a scrap of Old Olive. It looked a little plain so I die cut the sweet edge strip from the Be Mine dies from a scrap of Cherry Cobbler card and cut it to fit.

Joseph's Coat Technique used to make a Fireworks at New Year card for the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop

Fireworks at New Year

Hello and welcome to the Hopping Around the World Blog Hop where our theme is ‘New Year’s Eve Party’, I have used the gorgeous Beauty Abounds stamp set and the Joseph’s Coat technique to suggest a night sky lit up with fireworks at New Year.

To recreate the Fireworks at New Year card, you will need:

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Daffodil Delight – 5½“ by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 3

I used daubers to cover one of the Whisper White panels with splotches of colour using the Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pacific Point and Just Jade ink pads.

Next, I randomly stamped the larger bokeh dot image from the Beauty Abounds stamp set across the same panel, rotating the stamp each time. I then covered the panel with Clear Embossing Powder. The embossing powder was the heat et using my Heat Tool.

I then used my Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad to swipe across the embossed panel until the whole piece was covered with a heavy layer of black ink………and yes, I did get really, really messy…… Taking a small, damp cloth I wiped each or the embossed images clean of black ink revealing the gorgeous vibrant colours underneath.

Using the Playful Alphabet Dies I die cut the word HAPPY and the numbers 2021 from Foam Adhesive Sheet. Using washi tape to hold the letters together I die cut the word HAPPY and the year 2021 from the embossed and inked panel.

Each letter or number was then stuck to its foam counterpart. The embossed panel was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to another of the Whisper White panel. Using a Basic Black Marker I inked around the edges of the panel – in hind sight I would have been better to have used a Basic Black Panel – before adhering it to the Daffodil Delight layer with the liquid glue.

The die cut letters were then placed back in the negative spaces and the embossed patched painted with Clear Wink of Stella and voila, the card was finished.

A pretty floral card made for the Colour Combo Blog Hop and using the All Things Fabulous stamp set

Colour Combo Blog Hop

Thank you for joining me today for the Colour Combo Blog Hop where our colours are:  Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Rococo Rose. I have chosen to use the All Things Fabulous stamp set to make my card, If you have hoped over from Jenn Charles, I am sure you loved her great project.

To Recreate the All Things Fabulous card, you will need:.

Rococo Rose card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right and lower left corners
Coastal Cabana – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded upper right corner x 2
Whisper White – 3½” by 2½” –- Rounded upper right corner

I ran one of the larger Whisper White panels through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. I love the subtle effect this folder gives to a project. The embossed layer was glued to the Coastal Cabana panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole panel was added to the Rococo Rose card base with the same liquid Glue.

The sentiment from the Peaceful Poppies stamp set was stamped in Coastal Cabana ink onto the small panel of Whisper White. It was die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and added to the card front on Dimensionals.

The larger flower was stamped in Rococo Rose. I stamped the inner detailed layer in full strength ink, added the middle layer in 2nd generation ink and the final layer in 3rd generation ink. I love that you can get lots of different shades from the same ink pad.

The smaller flower was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink. I find this one works better stamping the images in reverse – so 3rd generation ink for largest stamp first, 2nd generation for the middle image and full strength for the more detailed image,

The leaves were stamped in Coastal Cabana, full strength and 2nd generation. All of the images were die cut using the Fabulous Floral dies. The images were then adhered to the card front with either liquid adhesive and/or dimensionals.

I added a bow made from the lovely Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon and coloured in 3 Pearls using the Rococo Rose Blends Markers and added them to the card front.

Sweet card. I hope you like it.
