Paper Pieced Leafy Spray – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Stamping with Friends Blog Hop – 1

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on. When I saw the Petals of Beauty Dies, especially the large leafy die, my immediate thought was ‘paper piecing’ and that is what I have used to make my card.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the paper pieced leafy spray card, you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Secret Sea card – 4⅞” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 4”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Pool Party & Secret Sea

Using the Textured Notes Dies, I die cut a decorated rectangle from the 5¼” by 4” panel of basic White card.

I die cut the leafy spray from scrap pieces of Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Pool Party & Secret Sea using the large die from the Petals of Beauty dies. A Take Your Pick Tool was used to free all the pieces from the die, one colour at a time, taking care to keep the leaves in the correct position.

The Secret Sea outline leafy die cut was then adhered to the die cut Basic White rectangle. At this point I realised it would have been a lot easier if I had adhered double sided adhesive sheet to the back of each scrap piece…….. don’t you love hindsight!

Stamping with Friends Blog Hop – 1

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are creating cards using the Bridge fun fold. I have made my card with the Tractor & Co stamp set and dies and the Thoughtful Journey dsp.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the tractor load of Christmas trees card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8” by 5” scored at 1¼” and 2½” on both ends of the 8” side
Thoughtful Journey dsp – 4⅞” by 1⅛” x 2
Thoughtful Journey dsp – 4⅞” by 2⅞”
Misty Moonlight card – 5½” by 1”
Scrap Basic White and Silver Foil

The scorelines on the Thick Basic White card base were folded and burnished and the panels of dsp adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The ⅞” panels on either side and the 2⅞” panel in the centre.

Using Berry Burst ink I stamped the body of the tractor on scrap Basic White card. I also stamped the trailer with Misty Moonlight and two sets of Christmas trees with garden Green ink.

One large and 3 small wheels were stamped in Secret Sea ink onto scrap Basic White card. All the stamped images were then die cut using the Tractor & Co Dies. I also die cut some hub caps for the wheels from scrap Silver Foil.

Sweet Friend Card – Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing projects inspired by a colour challenge. The colours screamed Autumn to me and I have chosen to make my card using the Artistic Leaves stamp set.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the sweet friend card, you will need:

Calypso Coral card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 4⅞” by 3⅛”
Beautiful Bokeh dsp – 4⅛” by 3”
Cajun Craze card – 4⅛” by ⅜” x 2
Basic White card – 4⅛” by ⅜” x 2

The strips of Cajun Craze card were adhered to either side of the panel of Beautiful Bokeh dsp. The strips of Basic White were then added, one on either side. The whole piece was then adhered to the Calypso Coral card front.

The leaves were then stamped on the 4⅛” by 3” piece of Basic White card. I started with Real Red and added the next in Cajun Craze at a different angle.

Using Cajun Craze ink I added dotage around and over the leaves.

A trio of gems from my stash were added to finish the card.
