I was making a card today for a friends little daughter, Alys loves dressing up as a princess or a fairy so the Fairy Celebration stamp set was the obvious choice. I used the sketch from the CAS(E) This Sketch #307 challenge for this card.
Making the card
I stamped the gorgeous winged fairy in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap panel of Whisper White cardstock and die cut the image using a Stitched Oval from the Stitched Shapes Die set. I die cut a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals dies from Highland Heather cardstock and adhered the two layers together with liquid glue.
I coloured the fairy image in using the following Blends pens – Highland Heather Combo, Soft Sea Foam Combo, light Daffodil Delight, light Smoky Slate and Ivory.
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut a piece of Botanical Butterfly dsp to 3⅝” by 2½” and adhered it, with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, to the bottom of a panel of Whisper White cardstock 5⅜” by 3⅝”. This panel was added to a panel of Highland Heather measuring 5½” by 3¾” and the whole piece was added with the same adhesive to the front of a Soft Sea Foam card base.
I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink onto a strip of Soft Sea Foam cardstock ⅜” wide and trimmed it to size. This was added to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
I stamped the ‘magic sprinkles’ in Soft Sea Foam ink onto the stamped oval and near the top of the Whisper White panel. The stamped fairy was then added to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the fairy’s wings and magic sparkles and added a scattering of Iridescent Sequins for a bit of sparkle.
I added a layer of Whisper White inside the card and stamped the sprinkles on this and on the front of a Whisper White Envelope.
I think this card is gorgeous. I hope Alys likes it.
