In Color Smiles card for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we are showcasing the new 2022 – 2024 In-colors. I have made a pretty in-color smiles card using the Sending Smiles stamp set,

Colours used in this project are:

To Recreate the in-color smiles card, you will need:

Sweet Sorbet card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Starry Sky card – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Basic White card – 3¾” by 1½”

Using my Grid Paper and a ruler I measured down 1¼” and using a pencil drew a line across one of the larger panels of Basic White card. I drew another line about 1 ½” lower. This helped me to arrange my stamping.

I began by stamping the leafy sprig in Parakeet Party above and below the lines. The Sweet Sorbet flower was stamped next.

The smaller flower in Tahitian Tide ink was used to fill in some of the gaps and the smaller plume added in Orchid Oasis.

I used Starry Sky ink to add centres to all the flowers. The decorated panel was then glued to the Starry Sky layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the whole panel was added to the Sweet Sorbet card base using the same glue. I used a clean rubber to erase the pencil lines.

The larger part of the sentiment was stamped in Starry Sky ink and the smaller sentiment added using Sweet Sorbet………I messed this up and ended up re-stamping it onto scarp Basic white and die cutting it out using one of the labels from the co-ordinating Sending Dies. I added this over the badly stamped words using liquid adhesive. This piece was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

Pot of Daisies for the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop where we have a sketch challenge and I have chosen to make a pot of daisies card using the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the pot of daisies card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Friendly Hello dsp – 5⅞” by 2”
Mossy Meadow card – 5⅞” by ⅜”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 1¾”
Mossy Meadow card – 3¼” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 2¾” by 2¾”
Basic White card – ¼” strip

I adhered the piece of Friendly Hello dsp to the bottom of the Thick Basic White card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Next, I added Pale Papaya ink to the small panel of Basic White using a Blending Brush. I had tried a panel of Pale Papaya but the colour was too bright and I wanted something more muted. However, I felt the inked panel was to wishy-washy so I ended up stamping the group of daisies across the inked panel in 2nd generation Pale Papaya ink. I liked this as it gave the subtle texture I was looking for. The panel was then adhered above the dsp panel leaving about ¼” between the two pieces. The strip of Mossy Meadow card was adhered down to cover the edges of both the dsp and the inked panel.

The flowerpot from the Flowering Rain Boots stamp set was stamped on the square of Basic White card in Mossy Meadow ink and the group of daisies added in Basic Gray ink.  I used the Pale Papaya Blends Markers to colour in the daisies and So Saffron for the flower centres.

The coloured image was then die cut using the Layering Circle Dies and my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and layered onto a larger scalloped circle cut in the same way with the same dies from the square of Mossy Meadow card. The circle was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment came from the Kite Delight stamp set ad was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink onto the strip of Basic White card and trimmed down with scissors before being added to the card using liquid glue.

To complete the card, I coloured 3 of the Classic Matte Dots using the dark Mossy Meadow Blends Marker and added then to the card front as per the sketch.

I hope you like the card.

Please hop on to see what my fellow demos are sharing with us today.
