I made these cards for the Christmas Stampathon where this month’s theme is ‘creatures’. I have used the adorable penguin from the Wild Bunch stamp set along with the Lights of Aurora designer series paper.

I created the simply penguins Christmas cards using the following supplies:
Blueberry Bushel & Pretty Peacock card bases (2 of each) – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Basic White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 4
Lights of Aurora dsp – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White
I chose 2 different colour ways of the Lights of Aurora dsp (retired) in Lost Lagoon and Balmy Blue. Using Blending Brushes I added ink around both panels leaving a lighter area on the right side of each panel. I used Blueberry Bushel on the Balmy Blue piece and Pretty Peacock on the Lost Lagoon piece. The inked pieces were then mounted onto the smaller panels of Basic White card.

I added splashes and spots of Wink of Stella by bashing it on a Bone Folder before setting it aside to dry.

A length of White Ribbon was then wrapped around each layer, secured on the back with Sellotape before the panel was glued to the card bases. The Balmy Blue panel was glued to the Blueberry Bushel card bases and the Lost Lagoon pieces to the Pretty Peacock bases.

From scrap Basic White card, I die cut 4 circles. A penguin from the retired Wild Bunch stamp set, was stamped on each circle with Secret Sea ink. The penguins were then coloured using the dark Darling Duckling and light Secret Sea Blends Pens. A swipe of Wink of Stella was added under each bird.

I mounted the stamped circles to the card fronts using Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Dreamy Snowflakes stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White with Secret Sea ink. I trimmed the sentiments down and flagged each end before adding one to each card.

A trio of Basic Rhinestones finished each card.
