Extraordinary Birthday Card – Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are making projects inspired by a colour challenge. I have made my card using the Extraordinary Flora and Layered Thoughts stamp sets.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the extraordinary flora card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5⅞” by 2⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅞” by 2”
Basic White card – 5¾” by 3½”

The birthday sentiment, from the Layered Thoughts stamp set, was stamped in the centre of the 5⅞” by 2” panel of Basic White card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This strip was then adhered to the panel of Basic Black card. The whole piece was mounted onto the Thick Basic White card front.

I used the following Blends Pens to add colour to the flowers and leaves – Daffodil, Pumpkin Pie, Berry Burst, Poppy Parade, Azure Afternoon & Granny Apple Green

A pretty birthday hydrangea card made for one of my oldest friend’s birthday – she loves hydrangeas. using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set.

To recreate the birthday hydrangea card, you will need:

Gorgeous Grape card – 4¼” by 3⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Shimmery White card – 4⅛” by 3” -– rounded upper left corner

The flower head of the hydrangea was stamped in Fresh Freesia ink around the edges of the Fresh Freesia card base to add some texture.

I stamped the beautiful hydrangea flower in Basic Gray ink onto the Shimmery White card.

Using the Fresh Freesia ink and a Water Painter I covered the whole blossom. Next, I added Highland Heather ink to some of the flowers and Gorgeous Grape into to others. Balmy Blue ink was added to fill the gaps.
