Autumnal Tree card – Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where we are sharing Spring/Autumn themed projects. I have chosen to make a lovely Autumnal tree card using the Loveliest Tree stamp set and Dies. This card was inspired by a video made by fellow demonstrator Emma Ryder, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the video again to link it to mine.

Colours in this card are:

To recreate the lovely Autumnal tree card:

Mossy Meadow card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Crushed Curry card – 5” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 4¼” by 3”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Copper Clay & Mossy Meadow card

I stamped the tree in Early Espresso ink onto the 4¼” by 3” piece of Basic White card and set it aside to dry.

Using a pair of Paper Scissors, I roughed up the edge of a scrap of Mossy Meadow card allowing it to shred in small pieces. I repeated this with scraps of Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Copper Clay card. All the card dust and small scraps were collected on a sheet of scrap paper.

Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive was then applied to the stamped tree canopy, covering as much of the surface as possible with a thin smear of glue. This gives the tree canopy a great textured look.

I tipped all the paper scraps onto the glue smeared tree canopy, pressing all the pieces down into the glue and gently rubbing and tapping off any excess and applying them to areas not already covered.

Using the dark Mossy Meadow Blends Pen, I coloured in a length of the White Diagonal Striped Ribbon. Being a little impatient I then placed it on the stamped panel forgetting that it takes time for the ribbon to dry. Sadly, the colour seeped into the white card. So I decided to die cut the decorated tree and by doing this all the texture I had achieved was flattened! However, I quite liked the resulting effect so decided to press on.

I cut another panel of Basic White card 4¼” by 3” and wrapped, the now dry piece of ribbon around the it, securing the ribbon on the back with Sellotape and in the centre with a Mini Glue Dot. The die cut tree was then added to the panel on Dimensionals.

From the panel of Crushed Curry card I die cut a rectangle using the Perennial Postage Dies and added this behind the decorated panel. The whole piece was then glued to the Mossy Meadow card base.

At this point I decided to stamp my sentiment directly onto the panel!!! What was I thinking! I chose a sentiment, from the Country Birdhouse stamp set then decided to mask some of the words as I only wanted the word ‘hello’. I inked up the sentiment with Mossy Meadow ink, removed the masking paper strip and stamped the word onto the card front and thankfully got away with it……

A trio of Glossy Dots completed the card.

Please hop on to share the inspiration provided by my crafty friends.
