Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are sharing something new. I have made a retirement card using the gorgeous new Sunrise Sailing stamp set and dies which will be available from the 6th of May in my online store.

To recreate the sailing race card, you will need:

Basic White card – 5⅞” by 2¾”
Azure Afternoon card – 5⅞” by 1¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Lemon Lolly, Timid Tiger, Poppy Parade, Azure Afternoon & Pecan Pie

Using Azure Afternoon ink, I stamped the sentiment onto the Lemon Lolly card front.

I used the same ink to stamp the water image along the bottom of the 5⅞” by 2¾” piece of Basic White card. I used both first- and second-generation ink. I used a Blending Brush to add the same ink to the top of the panel after masking a small area for the sun. After removing the mask, I added colour to the sun using a little Crushed Curry ink with a Sponge Dauber.

From scrap Pecan Pie card, I die cut 4 of the medium sized boats using the Sunrise Sailing Dies. I then die cut the sails from scrap Lemon Lolly, Timid Tiger, Poppy Parade and Azure Afternoon card. I glued the sails to the boats and adhered them to the inked panel using a mixture of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots and Mini Dimensionals.

Tropical Palms card for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop whare we are sharing projects inspired by a picture and colour combo. I have used the Oceanfront and Paradise Palms stamp sets to make a card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Tropical Palms card, you will need:

Tahitian Tide card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Crumb Cake card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Fluid 100 card – 5” by 3¼”
Very Vanilla card – 2½” by 1”
Very Vanilla card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

Using a Spritzer I sprayed water onto the panel of Fluid 100 card, this will allow the ink to move around on the card.

I inked up the ‘sea’ stamp from the Oceanfront stamp set with Bermuda Bay at the top and Coastal Cabana ink at the bottom of the stamp. I stamped down onto the wet Fluid 100 card.

The ‘sky’ image from the same stamp set was inked up with Tahitian Tide ink and stamped down as above. I didn’t mind if there was a little mixing of the inks.

I left the panel to dry a little before stamping the ‘sand’ image, again from the Oceanfront stamp set in Crumb Cake ink. I used a Heat Tool to completely dry the stamped background before moving onto the next step.

Using the Stamparatus I stamped the tree trunks from the Paradise Palms stamp set in Crumb Cake ink. I like to use the Stamparatus with Watercolor card as I can stamp multiple times to get the depth of colour and definition I want. The palm tree tops were added with Old Olive ink using the Stamparatus. The whole panel was then glued to the Crumb Cake layer and then added to the Tahitian Tide card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla card and die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies and added to the card front to complete the card.

I began by cutting, scoring and burnishing the 2 pieces of Thick Whisper White cardstock which make the card. I cut 2 panels of Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper (dsp) and adhered them to the larger of the Thick Whisper White panels with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the cottage image onto the smallest piece of Whisper White in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and set it aside to dry. I coloured in the image using Watercolor Pencils in the following colours – Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry & Cajun Craze, using a Blender pen to smooth out the colour.

I stamped the group of birds twice on the inside of the smaller card and used the same Watercolor Pencils to add some colour.

The stamped panel was then added to the layer of Blueberry Bushel cardstock and then adhered to the smaller piece of Thick Whisper White, remembering that this part of the card opens from left to right. The whole piece was then added to the larger Thick Whisper White panel. All the glue was done using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set in Blueberry Bushel ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the 1” Circle Punch. Using the Layering Circle framelits and the Big Shot I die cut a slightly larger scalloped circle from the middle of the Blueberry Bushel panel – nobody will know once all the layers are put together. I stuck the stamped circle onto the Blueberry Bushel scalloped Circle with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The circle was then added to the card front on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
