I chose the Bloom by Bloom stamp set to make my birthday card. I love the1960’s -70’s vibe of this stamp set but have been desperate to try it with more fresh ‘Spring’ colours and as I had some ¼” strips of Granny Apple Green, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo cardstock left from another project and decided to use these as my jumping off point.

I stamped the stem and leaf in Granny Apple Green onto a Whisper White Stitched Rectangle. The flower was added in Flirty Flamingo ink and the dots were stamped in So saffron ink. The stamped rectangle was added to the layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I adhered a ¼” strip of Granny Apple Green, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo cardstock to the Whisper White layer and trimmed them to fit using my scissors. This panel was then added to the layer of Flirty Flamingo cardstock before adding the whole piece to the front of a So saffron card base.

I laid the stamped piece onto the card front and felt it needed a little something extra. After a bit of thought I stamped a scatter of tiny flowers from the stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink.

The rectangle panel was then added to the card front on Dimensionals and a scattering of Share What You Love Artisan Pearls added a little hint of luxury.

The tiny flowers were stamped on the envelope and the inside Whisper White panel and glued inside the card.

I love the fresh colour combo. I hope you like it.

Please hop on and see what loveliness Leonie Stuart has to share with us

Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the first Stampers Showcase Blog Hop, I am thrilled to be part of this exciting new venture and am looking forward to hopping with some of my fellow demonstrators from around the world. If you have begun the hop with me, my name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK. Our theme this month is ‘Thanks’ – I don’t know about you but I always need thank you cards.

I have chosen the First Frost stamp set to make my card. This set has carried over from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and I find these sets often get forgotten in the excitement of all that the Spring/Summer catalogue brings.

Making the Stampers Showcase card

I began by taking a Whisper White layer measuring 5¼” by 3½” and rounding the upper left corner with the Detailed Trio Punch. I then lightly drew a line in pencil about 1¼” from the top, I drew another pencil line about 1½” below that. This is to help me with stamp placement.

I inked up the largest flower using Berry Burst ink and stamped it 3 times going above and below both pencil lines. I inked up the small flower in Balmy Blue ink and randomly stamped again above and below the lines. Next I inked up the top of the long leafy image in Lemon Lime Twist ink and filled in some of the gaps. Finally I inked up the thistle image in Fresh Fig ink and randomly added stamped them on both sides of the line. I set the panel aside to dry before rubbing out the pencil lines.

I mounted the stamped panel onto a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝” with a rounded upper left corner and then added the whole piece to a Fresh Fig card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I ran the ‘thanks’ from the Well Written dies through my Big Shot 3 times with scrap Fresh Fig cardstock and glued each layer one on top of the other using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 4⅛” by 1⅜” and stamped the ‘for everything’ from the Well Said stamp set in Berry Burst ink and added the ‘thanks’ just above with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The Whisper White layer was added to a piece of Fresh Fig 4⅛” by 1½” using liquid adhesive and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the piece to the card front.

Using the sweet little Bitty Blooms Punches I stamped flowers and flower centres from scrap Fresh Fig, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I added the centres with Mini Glue dots and used the same adhesive to adhere the flowers to the card front. As a final touch I painted the small flowers with Clear Wink of Stella.

I love this colour combo, so fresh and cheerful looking.
