A trio of cards for my May 2025 classes using the Sunrise Sailing stamp set, Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies from Stampin' Up!

Sunrise Sailing Classes

Today I am sharing the cards I designed for my May 2025 classes using the Sunrise Sailing stamp set, embossing folder and dies.

Colours used to make these cards are:

Arched card

Blueberry Bushel card – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic White – 5” by 3¾” x 2
Basic White – 2⅛” by ⅜”
Coastal Cabana – 4⅛ by 1⅛” x 2
Scrap Basic White

Using the largest arch from the Everyday Arches Dies I cut the Blueberry Bushel card base. The trick is to place the die with the left-hand cutting edge overhanging the fold of the card front. I also die cut 2 smaller arches form the 5” by 3¾” panels of Basic White card saving one for the inside of the card.

Blueberry Bushel ink was lightly added to the remaining white arch using a Blending Brush.

From the 2 strips of Coastal Cabana card we die cut the wavy edges and adhered them to bottom of the inked arch, one above the other to form the sea.

The boat was stamped on scrap Basic White card using Blueberry Bushel ink, the inside colour added to the sails with Poppy Parade ink and the boat body stamped with Coastal Cabana ink. The boat was then die cut using the Sunrise Sailing Dies. We also die cut a couple of clouds from the same scrap card.

The boat was then mounted onto the decorated arch on Dimensionals. The clouds were added flat and the excess trimmed off. The birds were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The arch was then glued to the card front.

The sentiment, from the Darling Dinos was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink onto scrap Basic White card. I trimmed it down and added it to the card front.

Embossed Sailboat card

Poppy Parade card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Blueberry Bushel – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 4¾” by 3”
Basic White – 2⅛” by ⅜”
Basic White – 3” by 2½”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
1” by ½” strips – White, Coastal Cabana & Blueberry Bushel

The 4¾” by 3” piece of Basic White card was embossed using the Sunrise sailing 3D Embossing Folder. The colour was stamped on the sails with Blueberry Bushel ink and the bottom of the boat was stamped with poppy Parade ink.

The birds were stamped with memento Tuxedo Black ink and the panel was glued to the Blueberry Bushel layer. This was added to the Poppy Parade card base on Dimensionals.

Basic White – 2⅛” by ⅜”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside – rounded upper right corner

Blueberry Bushel ink was lightly added above the sea using a Blending Brush and a trio of birds were added with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The panel was then glued to the Blueberry Bushel layer and then to the Coastal Cabana card front.

I die cut a medium sized boat from scrap Blueberry Bushel card and sails from scrap Poppy Parade card and adhered the two pieces together. The boat was then added to the card front on Dimensionals.

A masculine sailboat themed card made using the Sunrise Sailing dies and Cheers & Sips stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Masculine Sailboat card

The card I am sharing today was inspired by Mikaela Titheridge who created a similar card for our team training event. Her card was floral, but I decided to adapt the design and made my masculine sailboat card using the Sunrise Sailing stamp set and dies.

Colours used to make my card are:

To recreate the masculine sailboat card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Misty Moonlight card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Thick Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 4” by 2”
Misty Moonlight – 3⅝” by ⅜” x 2
Scrap Basic White, Coastal Cabana & Misty Moonlight card

Using the largest of the Water Painter Brushes I painted dilute Pool Ink in stripes across the Thick Basic White panel. Mikaela used Fluid 100 paper, but I didn’t have any to hand. I found that the Thick Basic White copes with a little water, it does warp but when it was dry I placed it under a heavy book for about 30 minutes and it flattened nicely. I glued it to the Misty Moonlight panel and then to the Thick Basic White card front.

I flagged the end of the 4” by 2” piece of Basic White card and swirled on some Pool Party ink using a Blending Brush. The strips of Misty Moonlight card were glued either side of the banner piece and the whole piece was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

From scrap Coastal Cabana and Misty Moonlight card I die cut the small and medium sailboats and glued the pieces together.

From scrap Basic White card, I die cut the smaller clouds and glued them to the banner, overlapping on both sides. The sailboats were then added to the banner.

I used the same ink to stamp the water image along the bottom of the 5⅞” by 2¾” piece of Basic White card. I used both first- and second-generation ink. I used a Blending Brush to add the same ink to the top of the panel after masking a small area for the sun. After removing the mask, I added colour to the sun using a little Crushed Curry ink with a Sponge Dauber.

From scrap Pecan Pie card, I die cut 4 of the medium sized boats using the Sunrise Sailing Dies. I then die cut the sails from scrap Lemon Lolly, Timid Tiger, Poppy Parade and Azure Afternoon card. I glued the sails to the boats and adhered them to the inked panel using a mixture of Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots and Mini Dimensionals.
