A pretty card made for the Stamping Dreams 'In Memoriam' Blog Hop using the Painted Poppies stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Field of Poppies for the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop where our theme is ‘In Memoriam’. My son is in the British Army and Remembrance Sunday is very important to us a family and  I have chosen to make a field of poppies themed sympathy card.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the field of poppies card, you will need:

Petal Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Poppy Parade card – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2
Poppy Parade card – 2¼” by 2¼”
Basic White card – 2¼” by 2¼”

Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the group of poppies, twice across one of the Basic White panels.

I used a Post It note to mask off the ½” strip where the poppy stems were stamped. I used a Blending Brush to apply Granny Apple Green ink between to strips of Post Of Note. The sticky strips were then moved up and Petal Pink ink was brushed on over the poppy flowers. Finally, I masked off a ½” strip above the flowers and coloured this in with Pool Party and a Blending Brush.

I wrapped a length of Black Baker’s Twine around the stamped panel securing it on the back with Sellotape. The panel was then glued to the Poppy Parade layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I used the same liquid glue to add the panel to the Petal Pink card base.

The sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the square or Basic White card. This was die cut using the Beautiful Shapes Dies. A slightly larger circle was cut from the square of Poppy Parade card using one of the Layering Circle Dies. The sentiment was mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Art Gallery stamp set in Starry Sky ink onto the strip of Basic White card. I didn’t want to word I’m so masked it off with Washi Tape prior to inking the stamp. I trimmed down the strip and flagged one end before adding it to the card front with the liquid glue.

A mirrored tree image using the Rooted in Nature stamp set

Mirrored Rooted in Nature

Today I have been playing with my Stamparatus and have come up with a lovely mirrored Rooted in Nature stamp set.

Making the Mirrored Rooted in Nature card

I began with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅞” by 2¾”. I placed it in the corner of my Stamparatus , placed the cut through tree trunk image on the upper half  and picked up the stamp using one of the clear panels. I inked the stamp in Balmy Blue ink and stamped it down. I then rotated the Whisper White panel through 180⁰ and stamped again without re-inking to give a mirror image.

I placed the lovely tall tree image over the stamped tree ring, picked it up with the other panel. Inked it up with Early Espresso Ink and stamped it down. The whisper White cardstock was again rotated through 180⁰ and the image was stamped again. I love this look.

I added a 5⅞” by ½” strip of Blueberry Bushel cardstock to either side of the stamped panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added this piece to the front of a Balmy Blue card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel onto a scrap of Whisper White and I flagged the ends using the Tailored Tag Punch. It was added to the front of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To complete the card I added a piece of ⅛” Blueberry Bushel ribbon and tied it in a bow.

A sweet and simple card, I hope you like it.

Painted Glass Coastal Cabana butterflies

Painted Glass Sneak Peek

Today I am sharing with you a sneak peek of some new product which will be available in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue from the 1st June. The stamp set I am using today is called Painted Glass and is absolutely gorgeous, I especially love the really old fashioned manuscript style font.

Method

I began with a strip of Whisper White cardstock 5⅞” by 2¼”, inked up the delicate little butterfly stamp in Archival Basic Black ink and stamped it randomly down the entire strip. I then took my Coastal Cabana Marker…….yes y this gorgeous colour which was one of the 2013 – 2015 In Color‘s is now coming back into the Brights color family as part of Stampin’ Up!’s colour revamp . I was so happy when I found I still had the marker and a small amount of the cardstock in my collection. Anyway, I digress……I coloured in parts of each butterfly using the Coastal Cabana Marker.

I added the stamped panel onto a layer of Basic Black cardstock 5⅞” by 2½” using Tombow Liquid Adhesive then adding the whole piece to the front of a Coastal Cabana card base again using Tombow.

Taking another piece of Whisper White cardstock 5⅞” by 1” I stamped the beautiful sentiment in Archival Basic Black ink roughly in the centre of the piece then trimmed the cardstock, using my Stampin’ Trimmer, so that the sentiment would sit over the butterfly panel. The sentiment was then added to the card front with Stampin Dimensionals.

I stamped another butterfly onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and cut it out using Stampin’ Up!’s  really sharp Paper Snips. After colouring in part of the butterfly with my Coastal Cabana Marker I added some Basic Rhinestones to the butterfly body and added it to the card front with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

Such a pretty card using one of our returning colours. Hope you like it.
