Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on recently. I am sharing a card made using the Fragrant Layers stamp set.
I created the fragrant flowers card using the following supplies:
Misty Moonlight card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side Poppy Parade card – 4⅞” by 3⅜” Basic White card – 5” by 3⅝” Misty Moonlight card – 2⅛” by ½” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
I began by cutting a decorative rectangle from the 5” by 3⅝” piece of Basic White card using the Textured Notes Dies.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Fragrant Layers stamp set and Textured Notes Dies used to make a pretty floral note card
I stamped the solid image of the floral spray onto the ide cut rectangle using Flirty Flamingo ink. I stamped over each of the flowers with the outline, single flower using Poppy Parade ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Fragrant Layers stamp set and Textured Notes Dies used to make a pretty floral note card
The solid leaves were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink and the outline leaves added with Granny Apple Green ink.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Fragrant Layers stamp set and Textured Notes Dies used to make a pretty floral note card
I randomly stamped the circle of dots with Misty Moonlight ink onto the die cut rectangle and added the flower centres in 3rd generation Misty Moonlight ink. The whole panel was then glued to the Poppy Parade card panel and then mounted onto the Misty Moonlight card front on Dimensionals.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Fragrant Layers stamp set and Textured Notes Dies used to make a pretty floral note card
I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink onto the small piece of Misty Moonlight ink. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. This was then added to the card front.

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on. When I saw the Petals of Beauty Dies, especially the large leafy die, my immediate thought was ‘paper piecing’ and that is what I have used to make my card.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
I die cut the leafy spray from scrap pieces of Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Pool Party & Secret Sea using the large die from the Petals of Beauty dies. A Take Your Pick Tool was used to free all the pieces from the die, one colour at a time, taking care to keep the leaves in the correct position.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
The Secret Sea outline leafy die cut was then adhered to the die cut Basic White rectangle. At this point I realised it would have been a lot easier if I had adhered double sided adhesive sheet to the back of each scrap piece…….. don’t you love hindsight!
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
The infill leaf pieces were then inlaid into the Secret Sea outline; I used all the colours.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
