Beautiful Dragonfly Dreams for March classes

I’ve had a lot of fun at my classes this month using the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and co-ordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies by Stampin’ Up!  This bundle (save 10% if you buy the 2 together until the end of May 2017) creates the most beautiful projects as you can see below.

The 1st card was relatively simple and included a great but simple technique.  I love the reaction I get when I ink up a clear block, using a Pink Pirouette ink pad on this occasion, spray with a light mist of water using a Stampin’ Spritzer before stamping  down onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. The lovely thing is that everyone’s stamped image comes out slightly different. After it dried we stamped the speckled image form the Avant Garden stamp set using either Mint Macaron or Basic Gray ink. We stamped the detailed dragonfly image using a Wisteria Wonder ink pad onto Whisper White cardstock and die cutting using the Big Shot and Magnetic Platform. A bit of bling was added using the Basic Rhinestones and a coat of Clear Wink of Stella. The dragonfly was added to tiny pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals under the thorax. The sentiment was stamped in either Mint Macaron or Wisteria Wonder ink and the whole stamped piece was added to a Wisteria Wonder Layer then onto a Thick Whisper White card base. Lovely……

We stepped it up with the 2nd card by stamping the watercolour looking blossom from the Avant Garden stamp set in alternating Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder onto a Whisper White panel before adding some leaves in Mint Macaron and the centre of the flowers in Basic Gray. The sentiment was added in either Wisteria Wonder or Mint Macaron and the whole piece added to a Mint Macaron layer after corner rounding the upper right corners with the Project Life Corner rounder. We die cut the solid dragonfly from Whisper White cardstock and the detailed dragonfly from Basic Gray cardstock before adhering them together with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. Using Pink Pirouette, Mint Macaron and Wisteria Wonder markers we coloured the white spaces on the dragonfly before adhering it to the stamped layer using small pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. The whole piece was then added to a Wisteria Wonder card base.

The 3rd project was the gorgeous box die cut using the Window Box Thinlit dies. We stamped around the edge with the same flower we’d previously used from the Avant Garden stamp set in Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder with Basic Gray centres. The Basic Gray dragonfly was backed by Vellum for this project and coloured using the same markers. Such a pretty box.
