Carols of Christmas for a Team Challenge

Today I am sharing my entry for our July Team Challenge. The theme was Christmas in July. I always feel a bit weird making Christmas cards in the height of summer but luckily the weather has been so atrocious, cold and wet, that it feels like Autumn already; so bring it on. I decided to use the new Carols of Christmas stamp set which will be available to order from 1st August, today…….hoorah. You can also get the co-ordinating Card Front Builder dies which are going to be so popular.

I stamped the sentiment large in Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock 5” by 3”, towards the top of the panel. I masked it off with a Post It Note leaving the black crosshatching on the bottom visible. I inked both of the bauble stamps with the Momento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped them underneath the masked sentiment. I wanted the illusion that the baubles were hanging from the letters.

I stamped both sets of baubles again onto scrap Very Vanilla cardstock in both Cherry Cobbler ink and Tranquil Tide ink and die cut them out using the Big Shot. I added each small bauble over top of the black stamped version using a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. To add a bit of sparkle I added some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to the bottom of the panel, this was a piece I had left over from another project. To finish the panel off I added a couple of Basic Rhinestones to the centre of a couple of the baubles.

I cut a panel of Cherry Cobbler cardstock 5” by 3” and added it to the Crumb Cake card base with Tombow Liquid Adhesive, offsetting it before adding the stamped panel with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The stamped panel was added straight, lining up with the 4 sides of the card base.

I was really happy with how this card turned out. Hope you like it.
