A Good Man and Mountain Air stamp sets used to make a lovely masculine birthday card

Good Man

Today I am sharing a card made for my son in law Dom’s birthday. He and my daughter are lucky enough to live on the edge of the Peak District in the UK and they love to get out to walk or climb as often as possible. I have used the stamp set called A Good Man and teamed it up with my favourite Mountain Air stamp set.

To recreate the Good Man card, you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base –- 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Misty Moonlight – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper left corner x 2
Whisper White ¼” strip

I started by stamping the man in the deckchair using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped it again onto a large Post It note and cut it out using scissors. I wanted the man in the deckchair to be in the foreground of the picture and used the cut out as a mask.

With the mask in position I stamped the mountains in Misty Moonlight ink, the detailed image in full strength ink and the background reverse image in 2nd generation.

I stamped the row of trees in Garden Green ink and the water in Balmy Blue ink. The ‘ground’ from the Snow Front’ stamp set was stamped in 1st and 2nd generation Sahara Sand ink.

I peeled the mask away and coloured in the image using the following Blends Markers – Poppy Parade, So Saffron. Just Jade, Crumb Cake and Ivory.

The stamped panel was glued to the Misty Moonlight panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole panel was added on Dimensionals to the Thick Whisper White card base.

The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set was stamped onto a ¼” strip of Whisper White in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it down using Scissors. It was added with liquid glue to the card front.

I hope Dom likes the card.

A masculine birthday card made using the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set for the Joy of Sets Blog Hop

FONTS-amental

It is time for the Joy of Sets monthly blog hop where our theme is FONTS-amental!!!! Love this title. I love a good font but am strictly short and to the point when adding sentiments to a card. I have lots stamp sets with but find myself reaching for the same few tried and tested phrases every time. So for this challenge I have taken a sentiment only stamp set and used every one of the sentiments to make a card.

To recreate the FONTS-amental card you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Pacific Point – 4⅞” by 3¼”
Whisper White – 4⅝” by 3”
Pear Pizzazz – 5⅞” by 1”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”

I mounted all the stamps from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set onto acrylic blocks and started stamping them in either Bermuda Bay ink, Pacific Point ink or Pear Pizzazz ink starting with the ‘Awesome at any age’ in the centre.

A card featuring a couple running through the mountains

Do the Impossible

Today I am sharing the card I made my husband for Valentine’s Day. He is a mad keen runner and loves the outdoors so the Do the Impossible and Mountain Air stamp sets were perfect.

To recreate the Do the Impossible Valentine card you will need:

Shaded Spruce card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Poppy Parade – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜ by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner x 2

I began by stamping the runners from the Do the Impossible stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto one of the Whisper White panels. I stamped the same image on PostIt tape and cut out the figures using sharp scissors. These were then used to cover the figures acting as masks.

Next I stamped the mountains from the Mountain Air stamp set – detailed mountains in full strength Soft Suede, background mountains in 2nd generation Soft Suede then 1st , 2nd  and  3rd generation Sahara Sand.

Tree line was stamped in full strength Shaded Spruce. I added the ‘path’ using some of the images from the My Meadow stamp set and 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Crumb Cake ink. I used the tree line stamp from the Mountain Air stamp set, stamped in Balmy Blue to provide the water.

A masculine themed card made using the Above the Clouds stamp set and Hot Air Balloon dies by Stampin' Up!

Above the Clouds

The card I am sharing today was made using the Above the Clouds stamp set for a lovely friend who is starting a new job in the New Year.

To Recreate the Above the Clouds card you will need:

Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛ – rounded lower right corner
Whisper White 5⅝” by 3⅞” x 2 – rounded lower right corner
See A Silhouette dsp – 5½” by 3¾ “– rounded lower right corner
Whisper White – 5⅝” by 2”
Scrap Whisper White

I stamped the outline balloons onto the scrap Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the inner balloon image using Balmy Blue ink, Mint Macaron ink and Pineapple Punch ink and punched them out using the Hot Air Balloon Punch. I stamped the balloon baskets in the Memento ink and punched them out using the same punch.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere the dsp to one of the Whisper White panels then to the Balmy Blue card base.

I stamped the bunting image using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the strip of Whisper White. The bunting was coloured using the Balmy Blue, Mint Macaron & Pineapple Punch Stampin Write Markers. I added the strip to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
