Piece of Cake for a young mans birthday

Today I am sharing a card made for my nephew’s birthday earlier this week using the Piece of Cake stamp set and Cake Builder Punch; he loves a bit of cake.

To recreate the Piece of Cake card you will need:

Pool Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Night of Navy 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Silver Foil – 3¾” by 2¼”
Whisper White – 3¾” by 2”
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner for the inside
Scrap Whisper White and Silver Foil

I inked up the ‘drippy cake’ inage with Nignt of Navy ink and randomly stamped it over the Night of Navy layer. I stamped it again onto a scrap piece of Whisper White and punched it out with the co-ordinating Cake Builder Punch and coloured in the icing with the Pool Party Marker from the Subtles colour family.

The scalloped border was punched along the bottom if the Silver Foil piece using the now retired Decorative Ribbon Border Punch but you could use whatever border punch or die you have in your stash.

The sentiment was stamped in Pool Party ink onto the strip of Whisper White which was then and the cake was then glued to the Silver Foil piece. This was then added to the stamped Night of Navy panel then to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The same cake and stand were then stamped on the Whisper White panel for the inside of the card and also onto the envelope.

I finished the card by adding a trio of Adhesive Backed Sequins.

I hope he likes it.
