It is Christmas Stampathon time again and the theme for February is cards and matching tags and as per the rules of the Stampathon we have to make multiples. I have used the gorgeous new stamp set called Encircled in Nature, available in my online shop.
To recreate the encircled Christmas card, you will need:
Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” Shaded Spruce card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” Balmy Blue card – 3” by ½” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside Scrap Shaded Spruce card
I stamped the wreath image, from the Encircled in Nature stamp set in Pecan Pie ink onto the 5¼” by 3½” panel of basic white card.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
Using a Stencil previously die cut using the largest of the circular Stylish Shapes Dies – the negative circle fits beautifully over the stamped wreath – I inked the background in the Balmy Blue ink using a Blending Brush.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
The arc of pine trees were stamped in Shaded Spruce ink inside the stamped ring.
A piece of the gorgeous Copper Ribbon was wrapped around the panel and secured on the back with Sellotape. The decorated panel was then glued to the Shaded Spruce layer and then to the Balmy Blue card base.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
The sentiment, from the Ringed with Nature stap set was stamped in Shaded Spruce ink onto the small piece of Balmy Blue card. I angle cut the ends and added the sentiment over the ribbon, securing it in place with Mini Glue Dots.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
I die cut the larger solid tree and the bigger group of trees from scrap Shaded Spruce card. I added the large tree on Dimensionals to the card front. I then cut off the 3 smaller trees from the group and added the remaining 2 trees inside the circle with glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas cards for the Christmas Stampathon
Inking only one of the group of stars and crescent moon with Misty Moonlight ink, randomly over the background. A trio of Solid Faceted Gems finished off the card.
To recreate the encircled Christmas tags, you will need:
Basic White card – 4” by 3” Balmy Blue card – 4” by 3”
Using the large tag from the Merriest Trees Dies, I die cut a tags from both the the Basic White and Balmy Blue card pieces. I made 4 tags in total.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas tags for the Christmas Stampathon
2 tags were placed side by side and the wreath stamped on both in Pecan Pie ink. I used a Blending Brush to add Balmy Blue ink inside the stamped wreath.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas tags for the Christmas Stampathon
The trees were then added in Shaded Spruce and some of the cut off die cut trees added with glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Encircled in Nature stamp set and dies used to make Christmas tags for the Christmas Stampathon
The sentiment was stamped on the tag in Shaded Spruce ink.
The Balmy Blue label was the glued behind the stamped tag, slightly offset.

A length of Copper Ribbon was then fed through the hole at the top of the tag to finish the tags off.

Today I am sharing the cards made for the August 2023 Christmas Stampathon where the theme is ‘Sentiment As The Star’ – what a great theme. I used a sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set and tried my hand at making a faux shutter card.
To recreate one sentiment as the star card, you will need:
Blueberry Bushel card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” Winter Meadow dsp – 5¼” by 3½” Basic White card – 2⅛” by 2⅛” Blueberry Bushel card – 4½” by ¼” x 2 Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – for the inside Scrap Winter Meadow dsp
I stamped the sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set in Blueberry Bushel ink onto the square of Basic White card.
wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set and the Winter Meadow dsp used to make cards for the Christmas Stampathon – Sentiment As The Star Blog Hop
Lining the panel of Winter Meadow dsp up with my grid paper to find the centre I added the sentiment piece using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set and the Winter Meadow dsp used to make cards for the Christmas Stampathon – Sentiment As The Star Blog Hop
Lining the end of a Blueberry Bushel ¼” strip with a corner of the sentiment square, I adhered it in place using the same liquid glue. The excess was the trimmed off. I repeated this step on all 4 side of the sentiment panel.
wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set and the Winter Meadow dsp used to make cards for the Christmas Stampathon – Sentiment As The Star Blog Hop
I added liquid glue to 2 of the triangular panels, tucked in a piece of co-ordinating scrap dsp and trimmed off the excess. I repeated this step in the opposite corner. The panel was then glued to the 5⅜” by 3⅝” piece of Basic White card.

Today I am sharing the cards I made for this months Christmas Stampathon where our theme is ‘Snow & Ice’. I decided to use the large Snow Crystal stamp to make a one sheet wonder using the baby white technique and icy colours.
6 Card bases – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – I chose Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather & Gorgeous Grape – Rounded upper right corner 6 matting layers – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – I chose Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel, Fresh Freesia & Gorgeous Grape – Rounded upper right corner 1½ A4 sheets of Basic White card – after stamping these were cut down to give 6 panels measuring 5¼” by 3½” and rounded the upper right corners 6 Basic White panels – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside – Rounded upper right corner
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Snow Crystal stamp used to make a one sheet wonder using the baby wipe technique for the Christmas Stampathon
I began by laying 3 damp baby wipes on a plate, one on top of the other. I then added spots of re-inker to fill the centre of the baby white layers to make a sort of ink pad. I used Pool Party, Blueberry Bushel, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape & Parakeet Party.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Snow Crystal stamp used to make a one sheet wonder using the baby wipe technique for the Christmas Stampathon
The large snow crystal image was then inked up using the makeshift ink pad and stamped down the length of the 1½ A4 sheets of Basic White card. I twisted the image around so that the colour on the stamp was different each time. I then stamped again from side to side.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Snow Crystal stamp used to make a one sheet wonder using the baby wipe technique for the Christmas Stampathon
The stamped sheets were then cut down into 6 panels each measuring 5¼” by 3½”. I rounded the upper right corner of each panel having decided which were to be portrait and which landscape.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Snow Crystal stamp used to make a one sheet wonder using the baby wipe technique for the Christmas Stampathon
The stamped panels were then glued to the matting layers with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Snow Crystal stamp used to make a one sheet wonder using the baby wipe technique for the Christmas Stampathon
I wrapped a length of Glittered Organdy Ribbon around 5 of the cards – I ran out so used a piece of the silver trim ribbon instead – the ribbon was adhered on the back with Sellotape. The panels were then added to the card bases using the same liquid glue.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Snow Crystal stamp used to make a one sheet wonder using the baby wipe technique for the Christmas Stampathon
I die cut 6 labels using the Something Fancy dies and stamped the sentiment from the Celebrate with Tags stamp set in either Blueberry Bushel or Gorgeous Grape ink onto the labels. These were then added to the card fronts on Dimensionals.

We used the Stamparatus to stamp each of the snowflakes to create the wreath.
Each snowflake was stamped 4 times, rotating the panel of Basic White card 45° between each stamping. I created a template for making the wreath using Square Dies and some window sheet.
The stamped panel was then glued to the Orchid Oasis and then to the Parakeet Party card base.
We added a Wonderful Snowflake and the sentiment which was embossed in white on the strip of Orchid Oasis card.

The sentiment was stamped in Orchid Oasis ink onto the Basic White circle and the scalloped circle added behind. A bow and a scattering Iridescent Rhinestones completed the card.
