A masculine card made using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies

Garage Gears for a masculine card

Today I am sharing a masculine card made using the Garage Gears dies and the Geared Up Garage stamp set. Many of us find masculine cards a challenge but this set makes it easy to make great cards for the men in your life.

Making the Garage Gears card

You will need;
Cherry Cobbler card base
Whisper White cardstock – 5⅝” by 3⅞” x 2
Basic Black 4” by 3”
Silver Foil scrap
Bermuda Bay 2” by 1½”
Whisper White strip 3½” by ½”

I began by die cutting the large group of cogs and gears using the Big Shot and the Garage Gears dies. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to add these to one of the Whisper White panels. This panel was added to the Cherry Cobbler card Base with the same adhesive.

A masculine card made using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies

www.crafty-rootes.com – a masculine card made using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears dies by Stampin’ Up

I stamped the tool box using the Stamparatus, Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the Bermuda Bay cardstock. I wanted to get a really intense black image and the Stamparatus usually works best as you can stamp repeatedly in the same spot. The image was then die cut using the Big Shot and the same die set. It was added to the Whisper White panel on Dimensionals.

I die cut some of the individual gears and cogs using scrap Silver Foil paper and added then to the card front. I also used some of the waste foil circles as extra points of interest on the card front.

The sentiment from the Perfectly Paired Stamp set was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto the strip of Whisper White and trimmed it down to size. It was added on Dimensionals.

I added a stamped and die cut tool box onto the inside Whisper White layer and stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the front of the envelope.

Little Elephant stamp set and Elephant Builder Punch to make a baby card

Pink Elephants for a baby card

Today I have been making a sweet pink elephant baby card using the adorable Little Elephant stamp set and co-ordinating Elephant Builder Punch.

Making the Pink Elephant card

I began by stamping the large elephant in Flirty Flamingo ink and the small elephant in Blushing Bride ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock and punching them out with the Elephant Builder Punch. I put them to one side.

I inked up the flower stamp using my Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo Markers……….love that we can do this….. and stamped a row along the bottom of a Whisper White panel 5” by 3¼”. I added 2 banners using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, above the flowers made from the Tropical Escape dsp and added a sentiment stamped in Granny Apple Green ink onto a scrap of Whisper White.

I placed the pink elephants above the banners using Stampin’ Dimensionals and added the hearts which were coloured using the Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride markers. I rounded the upper left corner with the Detailed Trio Punch and added the panel to a layer of Flirty Flamingo cardstock having rounded the same corner. This whole piece was then glued to a Thick Whisper White card base using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The elephants were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I stamped an extra-large ear onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out. It was added to the large elephant on a dimensional. I added 2 banners made from the same Tropical Escape dsp to the top of the panel and finished the card off with a scattering of Iridescent Sequins.

A Clean and Simple Engagement Card

Today I am sharing the sweet card I made for my daughter and her fiancé following their engagement at the weekend. So exciting!!!!

I started with a Thick Whisper White card base and rounded the upper right corner with the Decorative Trio Punch. I die cut 2 circles using the Layering Circles Dies, the smaller in Whisper White cardstock and the next size up in Gold Foil. I glued the circles together with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

I added the small panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Camilla’s ring is a diamond solitaire, so I finished the card by adding a large Basic Rhinestone to mimic the diamond in her ring.

Camilla favours plain and simple cards and I really hope she and Dom like this one.

Swaps for OnStage Telford April 2018

Bubble Over Swaps

I am so excited to be going to OnStage in Telford, UK tomorrow. Looking forward to spending time with my team, catching up with old friends and making new ones and of course SWAPPING!!!! Today I am sharing my swap.

I knew I wanted to use my new Stamparatus and the Bottles and Bubbles dies and Bubble Over stamp set to make my OnStage swaps so began with a scrap panel of Whisper White cardstock.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I started by making a template using a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock and die cutting the large bottle in the middle of the panel using my Big Shot and the Bottles & Bubbles framelit dies. I then die cut a further 64 large bottles from scrap pieces of Whisper White cardstock and set them aside.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I positioned the negative bottle image template onto the Stamparatus on top of the foam panel and inserted the large bottle stamp into the negative space before closing the door to pick up the stamp.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I inserted the die cut bottles, one at a time into the negative space inking up the bottle stamp in Always Artichoke ink (perfect colour for a champagne bottle) and closing the panel to stamp onto the die cut bottle.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I absolutely love this technique and it was so much faster doing it this way. Love it! My Always Artichoke ink pad was quite dry and I don’t have the re-inker so I double stamped the first 3 -4 bottles but the more I stamped the more I liked the aged, vintage look the dry ink pad gave so decided not to double stamp the remaining bottles.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I die cut 65 of the large bottle labels from scrap Whisper White cardstock with the Bottles and Bubbles dies and die cut lots of stars using the Mini Treat Bag dies and scraps of Real Red cardstock. I added a star to the centre of each label with Tombow Liquid Adhesive then added the label with the same glue to the front of each bottle.

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

I cut 65 panels of Whisper White 4¾” by 3” and rounded the upper right hand corner with my Envelope Punch Board. I placed the panels onto the Stamparatus platform and laid the sentiment stamp from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set – love the font – onto the panel then picked it up with the right hand panel. I inked up the stamp with Real Red ink and stamped onto each panel in turn. Perfectly positioned!

Template for multiple stamping using the Stamparatus

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over Bundle by Stampin’ Up for OnStage swaps

Next, I laid a bottle into position on the stamped Whisper White panel and stamped the stars from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in Real Red ink, I repeated this step on the other panels. The Whisper White layers were then glued to panels of Real Red cardstock 5” by 3¼” also with the upper right hand corner rounded.

I added the die cut bottles on Stampin’ Dimensionals to the stamped panel before adding the whole topper to a Thick Whisper White card base. To finish off I added some Basic Rhinestones to each card.

Champagne hearts

Bubble Over for an engagement congratulations card

The Bubble Over stamp set, available from the 3rd January in my online store, makes a lovely understated congratulations card.

I wanted the main element on the front of the card to look like a bottle of Champagne. I tried stamping the ‘largest bottle’ image in Chocolate Chip ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, I liked it but the colour just wasn’t right. For the second attempt I tried Old Olive ink but it was much too light so I stamped the bottle again using Always Artichoke ink which was perfect. I die cut the stamped bottle using the co-ordinating Bottles and Bubbles Framelit dies and my Big Shot. I also die cut one of the label pieces from a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the ‘small heart’ image onto the label in Real Red ink and added it to the front of the die cut bottle using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

Congratulations card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock using my Paper Trimmer to 5” by 3½”, placed my die cut bottle roughly in position then stamped the heart image using 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th  generation Real Red ink to look as if the hearts were bubbling out of the bottle. Leaving the bottle roughly in position I inked up the sentiment from the Balloon Celebrations stamp set in Always Artichoke ink and stamped it to the side of the bottle. The bottle was then added to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Romantic congratulations card

I added apiece of the gorgeous ⅛” Real Red Ribbon from the Autumn/Winter catalogue along the bottom of the panel and tied a small bow. I love this ribbon and will really miss it when it retires next week.  To finish the panel off I rounded the upper right corner with my retired Project Life Corner Rounder.

Champagne hearts

www.crafty-rootes.com – Bubble Over stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock 4⅛” by 3⅝” and added it to the front of a Crumb Cake card base and added the decorated panel using Tombow Liquid Adhesive for both pieces. To add some sparkle I used 3 of the hearts from the Silver Metallic Enamel Shapes.

I plan to give this card to the son of a friend and his new fiancée, hope they like it.

Congratulation Alaska incentive trip achiever

Congratulations Alaska Incentive Trip Achiever

Today, I am sharing a card I made for my lovely upline Mikaela to congratulate her on achieving the Alaska incentive trip. She has put so much time and effort into winning this trip for herself and her family and so deserves it. She is an amazing mentor and team leader. Go Mikaela…………x

Congratulation Alaska incentive trip achiever

www.crafty-rootes.com – Large Letters Dies by Stampin’ Up! for a congratulations card

AS the trip is to Alaska the card had to have an icy theme so I started by using the snowflakes from the, oh so versatile, Colorful Seasons stamp set. I stamped them in Island Indigo ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 7⅞” by 3⅞”. I knew the card base had to be long to accommodate all those letters……….. I took the stamped panel to the Big Shot and die cut the letters A, L, A, S, K, A from the panel using the Large Letter framelit dies. I then ran the same letters through again using lots of scrap Whisper White cardstock until I had a total of 4 of each of the letters – 12 A’s in total…….

Snowflakes and hidden letters featuring Stampin' Up product

www.carfty-rootes.com – Large Letters framelit dies to spell Alaska

Using Tombow Liquid Adhesive I added the stamped layer with the cut out letters onto a panel of the gorgeous, new Champagne Glimmer paper. I took each letter in turn and adhered 3 Whisper White die cuts to the back to form a stack of each letter 4 pieces high; before adding each letter back into the appropriate space on the stamped panel. I love the dimension the stacks of letters give to this project.

Simple Snowflake card

www.crafty=rootes.com – Large Letters Dies by Stampin’ Up! for a congratulations card

I added some of the tiny stars from the Star of Light stamp set in So Saffron ink along the top above the letters and glued the whole panel to an Island Indigo card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I added a 7⅞” by 3⅞” piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside having stamped down the edge using the snowflakes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set in Island Indigo, Pacific Point, Marina Mist and Pool party ink. I added the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set which seemed so appropriate in Island Indigo ink. I stamped the envelope using the same stamps and colours.

Pretty snowflake decoration inside a card

I really love the simplicity of the card and really hope Mikaela likes it.
