The Happy Birthday stamp set and the Birthday dies by Stampin' Up! made to make a sweet floral card

Yellow Roses for a Birthday card

I have been playing today with my Water Color Pencils to make a yellow roses water colour birthday card. I used the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and co-ordinating Birthday Dies to make the sweet floral card.

To recreate the Water Coloured Yellow Roses Birthday card

Thick Whisper White – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Best Dressed DSP – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Whisper White – 4” by 3”
Whisper White – 3” by 3”

I began by adhering the panel of designer series paper to the Thick Whisper White card front using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The cake from the Happy Birthday to you stamp set was stamped on the smallest panel of Whisper White card and the flowers on the cake were die cut using the Birthday Dies. The label was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I coloured the flowers and leaves in using the following Water Color Pencils – Gorgeous Grape, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight & Basic Gray and a Blender Pen. The flowers were then cut apart using sharp scissors.

I die cut the next size up rectangle from the Old Olive panel and adhered the two rectangles together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The foliage was die cut from scrap Smoky Slate and Vellum card stock.  The die cut flowers were added to the card front with liquid glue and the foliage pieces tucked in behind to give a fuller effect. I added the dots in the Flirty Flamingo ink to break up the white panel. I used the dark Daffodil Delight Blends Marker to colour in a trio of Basic Pearls and added them to the card front. The flowers were then given a coat of Clear Wink of Stella.

The sprig of foliage was stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink onto the remaining Whisper White panel and adhered inside the card. The same image was used to decorate the envelope.

Happy Birthday To You

Today I am sharing a sweet card made using the Happy Birthday to You stamp set and Happy Birthday dies for a friends birthday, after all who doesn’t love a bit of cake!

To recreate the Happy Birthday card you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Pretty Peacock – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner
Whisper White — 5⅜” by 3⅝” – x 2 – one for the outside and one for the inside.
Whisper White – 4” by 3”

I inked up the large cake stamp with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the image onto the small panel of Whisper White card stock. Using the co-ordinating Happy Birthday dies and my die cutting machine I cut out the image. The gorgeous cake was then coloured in using the following Blends Markers – Soft Sea Foam combo, Pool Party combo, Pretty Peacock combo, Smoky Slate combo & Color Lifter. The image was then set aside to dry.

I took one of the remaining Whisper White panels and placed the spotted mask for the Basic Patterns Masks set and laid it over top. I used Soft Sea Foam ink applied with a Sponge Dauber to ink up the background. This gives such a soft. Unobtrusive background. I stamped the sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink in the upper left hand corner.
