Real Red – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Most Wonderful Time dsp – 5¼” by 3½”
Old Olive – 4¼” by 2¼”
Whisper White – 4¼” by 2¼”

I began by adhering the Most Wonderful Time dsp to the Real Red panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I set this panel to the side.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty Christmas pressies card made using the Most Wonderful Time product Medley

Taking the ‘ribbon image’ from the Most Wonderful Time stamp set I stamped them in Real Red ink onto the panel of Whisper White. After trial and error, I found it easier to stamp the ribbons first, followed by the parcels. The parcels were then stamped in Old Olive ink.

I die cut the stamped row of presents using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and one of the Tasteful Labels dies. Using the same label die I cut the same shape from the piece of Old Olive card. This was cut through the middle and was glued to the stamped label using the liquid glue.

The ribbon holes at either end were punched using the Detailed Trio Punch and a piece of the All The Trimmings ribbon fed through. I added the stamped panel to the Real Red layer using Dimensionals and wrapped the ribbon around the back of the panel, tying it on the front into a bow.

The Nothing Sweeter stamp set used for a girls birthday card

A Nothing Sweeter Birthday

A couple of month’s ago I made a birthday card for my brother in law using the Nothing Sweeter stamp set , I liked it so much that I have made a girlie version today.

Girlie Nothing Sweeter Birthday Card

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅛” by 3⅜”. Using the scalloped die from the Sweetly Stitched Framelit dies and my Big Shot, I embossed it 3 times along the bottom of the panel.

The Nothing Sweeter stamp set used for a girls birthday card

ww.crafty-rootes.com – Nothing Sweeter stamp set used for a female birthday card

I rounded the upper left corner using the Detailed Trio Punch and added the panel to a Daffodil Delight layer with a rounded upper left corner, measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝”. I wrapped a piece of ⅛” Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon around the panel above the scalloped embossing securing it on the back with Sellotape and added a bow with a Mini Dimensional. The panel was then added to a Lovely Lipstick card base with a rounded upper left corner using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Next I stamped the parcels onto some scrap Whisper White in Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil Delight inks. The outer part of the parcel was stamped in full strength, 1st generation ink. Inside each parcel was stamped in 2nd generation ink, ie stamped off once to give a lighter shade. The stripes were added in the 1st generation ink. The parcels were then die cut using the Sweetly Stitched dies and the Big Shot.

The die cut parcels were then added to the card front, the Grapefruit Grove and Daffodil Delight parcels with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and the Lovely Lipstick parcel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment from the Hand Delivered stamp set was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink onto a ⅜ strip of Whisper White which was trimmed to fit and added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. To finish I added a scattering of Glitter Enamel Dots for a bit of sparkle.

I love the summery colours of this card, so refreshing after all the Christmas colours.

A masculine birthday card made using the Nothing Sweeter stamp set by Stampin' Up!

A Nothing Sweeter Masculine Birthday card

Today I made a birthday card for my brother in law using the fantastic Nothing Sweeter stamp set. I used this set last week to make some Christmas cards and I love that this stamp set can be used for so much more than Christmas.

Nothing Sweeter Birthday Card

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 5⅜” by 3⅝”. Using the Sweetly Stitched Framelit dies and my Big Shot I chose the zigzag stitched edgelit and embossed it twice along the bottom of the panel to add some texture.

Next I stamped the parcels onto some scrap Whisper White cardstock  in Blueberry Bushel, Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green inks. The outer part of the parcel was stamped in full strength, 1st generation ink. The inner parcel was stamped in 2nd generation ink, ie stamped off once to give a lighter shade. The stripes were added in the 1st generation ink. The parcels were then die cut using the Sweetly Stitched dies and the Big Shot.

I wrapped a length of ⅛” Blueberry Bushel Grosgrain Ribbon and wrapped it around the embossed panel above the zigzag stitched lines and tied it in a knot. The layer was added to a Granny Apple Green layer measuring 5½” by 3¾”with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. This panel was then added to a Blueberry Bushel card base with the same glue.

The sentiment from the Hand Delivered stamp set was stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto a ⅜ strip of Whisper White which was trimmed to fit and added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Birthday card in pink and purple

Happiest of Days for a quick card

The Happiest of Days stamp set is a great set for making quick, simple, stylish cards in a hurry. I used it today for a birthday card and have added a sneak peek of new dsp which will be available from January.

Sweet and simple birthday card

www.crafty-rootes.com – Happiest of Days stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I stamped the image of presents in Archival Basic Gray ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the 2¼” Circle Punch, this was new in the annual catalogue this summer. I coloured in the image using Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette Marker pens and added the sentiment from the Confetti Celebration stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink.

Quick birthday card for a girl

I punched a circle from Pink Pirouette cardstock using the 2½” punch and added it to the back of the Whisper White circle using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

Using the Banner Triple Punch I flagged the end of a 5½” by 2” piece of dsp from the upcoming Petal Passion 12” by 12” dsp pack and added it to the front of a Rich Razzleberry card base using Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

Birthday card in pink and purple

I added the looped Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon onto the piece of dsp, holding it in place with Fast Fuse Adhesive. The topper piece was then added over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. After the photos were taken I added a Black Rhinestone to the centre of each of the bows on top of the presents.

A very simple, understated card, Hope you like it.
