A You're My World card made for the Music Blog Hop using the Watercolor World stamp by Stampin' Up

You’re My World card for the Music Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Music Blog Hop where we are sharing musically inspired projects. I was visiting my Mum recently, she is living in a care home with Alzheimer’s, and a singer was entertaining the residents and one of the songs she sang was ‘You’re My World’ which was a big hit in 1964 for Cilla Black. I vividly remember my Mum singing this to my brother and I, she had a lovely voice and loved to sing. I made my card with this song in my mind.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the you’re my world card. You will need:

Basic Black card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Basic Black

Using the Alphabet A La Mode Dies, I die cut the word W,O, R, L, D from the centre of the panel of Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper, making sure to keep away from the edges.

Taking the smaller Basic White panel, I placed it on my Simply Scored Scoring Tool and scored on the long side at 1” increments – so at 1”, 2”, 3”, 4” and 5”. On the short side at 1”, 2” and 3”

A lovely water-coloured card made for the Technique Tuesday blog Hop using the Framed Florets stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Framed Florets Water-coloured for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects using water coloring techniques. I have used the pretty Framed Florets stamps set to make my card.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the framed florets water-coloured card, you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Sweet Sorbet card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Fluid 100 card – 5” by 3¼”
Fluid 100 card – 2½” by 2½”
Very Vanilla card – 5½” by 3¾”

I mounted the sentiment from the Framed Florets stamp set onto the plate of the Stamparatus, inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped down on the 2½” by 2½” piece of Fluid 100 card. I repeated this step to get a nice dark image. This was then die-cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

The double flower image was the mounted onto the Stamparatus Plate, inked up with StaZon Jet Black ink and stamped onto the panel of Fluid 100 card. I repeated the step then moved the image and stamped again onto the same panel.

When the StaZon ink was dry I began to watercolour the images, beginning with the leaves. I used my Water Painters to add a little water to the leaves, this helps the ink to flow on the card. I added a drop of Granny Apple Green re-inker to the lid of the Granny Apple Green inkpad, loosen the ink with a little water and painted in the leaves.

The flowers were painted in the same way with Daffodil Delight ink and a little Sweet Sorbet ink in the centre, allowing it to bleed out a little. I left the piece to dry.

When the ink was dry I added Soft Sea Foam around the stamped and coloured images, using water to blur the ink giving a faded look. When the panel was completely dry I glued it to the Sweet Sorbet layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. A length of Sweet Sorbet and white Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the panel and the whole piece then added to the Soft Sea Foam card front using the same liquid glue.

The sentiment panel was then mounted over the twine on Dimensionals. A double Twine bow and a scattering of Glossy Dots and 2022 – 2024 In Color Dots completed the card.

So pretty. Please hop over to see what my crafty friends have to share with us today.

Mirrored Campervan for the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink & Inspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing our favourite Stampin’ Up! Products. So much to choose from – eventually I settled on our fabulous Stamparatus and decided to showcase the mirror technique and make a sweet mirrored campervan card for a friend’s anniversary.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the mirrored campervan card, you will need:

Polished Pink card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Balmy Blue card – 5 ½” by 3⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside
Scrap Basic White

I mounted the campervan image on the Stamparatus plate and stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on the smaller panel of Basic White card.  I moved the plate along 2 hinge steps, placed the Silicon Mat on top of the stamped image, inked up and stamped onto the Silicon Mat. I repeated this step to get a darker image.

The Silicon Mat was turned over, lined up next to the original stamped image inked side down. I then stamped the image down on the back of the Silicon Mat to provide the pressure to imprint the image. Lifted the Silicon Mat and voila we had a mirror image!

The heart from the Sweet Conversations stamp set was stamped, between the 2 campervans, in Real Red ink. Using the following Blends, I coloured the images in – Polished Pink, Balmy Blue, So Saffron, Petal Pink, Smoky Slate, Basic Black & the Color Lifter.

Using the Light Smoky Slate Blends pen, I coloured a length of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and wrapped it around the stamped panel. The panel was then adhered to the Balmy Blue layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and then added to the Polished Pink card base on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Art Gallery stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto scrap Basic White card and die cut using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the Seasonal Labels Dies. It was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

To complete the card, I added a bow using the same-coloured Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and a trio of Classic Matte Dots.

Make & Take for Peterborough Crafting Live

Over the last couple of days my upline Mikaela Titheridge, my fellow team mate Alison Carter and I have been manning a stand at the Peterborough Craft Show with the hep of team mate Emma Kenyon. Great fun was had by all and we met so many lovely people. Today I am sharing the project I designed for our Make & Take and showcases our fabulous Stamparatus.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate this, Make & Take, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Old Olive card – 5⅓” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5” by 3⅜”
Heartwarming Hugs dsp – 5⅞” by 1¼”

We had set up the Stamparatus using the cute Penguin Place stamp set.

The first plate held the penguin image which was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the panel of Basic White. Using the hinge method they moved the image along, re-inking and stamping again leaving a space between the two penguins. We slipped in a scrap of Basic White to stamp a 3rd penguin in the black ink.

On the back of the plate were the penguin’s beak and feet which were inked up with Daffodil Delight ink and stamped on all three penguins in the same way.

The second plate had the bobble hat, balloon string, bow tie on one side and the sentiment on the bottom. These were inked in Real Red ink.

The reverse of that plate held the cute little antler head band which was inked with Soft Suede ink and the balloon which was stamped in Old Olive ink. The stamped panel was glued to the Old Olive panel.

Such a sweet card. I hope you like it.
